Hmm, I wonder if some mopologist computer specialist with a beef against the forum could be to blame.

I'm using Chrome on my Mac and when I hit the Mormon Discussions bookmark just now I got a message that said "Oops! That page doesn't exist" or something like that. I re-clicked and it brought me here. Very strange.

Also using Chrome on a MacBook Pro. When I opened MDB for the first time today, I was re-directed to another address, (containing rr and nu in the URL, as I recall). It was slow in loading so I closed the window and started again. MDB then loaded immediately and without problems. Also very strange.

This is the first sign I have had on a Mac or a PC of any problems with the MD board. (Not really a problem, I guess - more of a brief glitch.)

Missing Avatars Update:

On this page, the Avatars for Dr. Shades, Shulem, Equality, Buffalo and Liz are missing on my computer.

Avatars I can see are those for Chap, Quasi and DrW.

Let's see ... who do we know who once told us that he was a 'techie' who had all our IP addresses?

Then he said he didn't mean that, he just meant he could get them if he could, but would never do anything so wicked ...

And he thinks this is a bad, bad board ...

At the very least, there may be someone like him out there, but with sufficient brains not to telegraph his intentions to all and sundry.

It wasn't Simon.

I happen to know that Simon doesn't have the kind of programming knowledge that you would need to pull this off.

This was either done by some sort of random bot, or, it was done by someone who has extensive knowledge, and really has it out for the board.

Honestly, if this had happened four or five years ago when the feud between MDB and MAD was really crazy, I would suspect Dan G. However, I really don't see much of a motive for anyone on MDD at this point.

I am suspecting something more random.

I just got the redirect a few minutes ago. It's still in my Safari history list. The exact address is:

I don't know what is there, because I've never allowed it to finish loading the page. If it's some good nakedness, I'm a little disappointed.

I vote dirty tricks of the Romney campaign. Why? Just because it is more fun to feel important.

The point is not to scare us away, but to deter casual lurkers. For them it would not be worth the trouble or the risk.

This may be the Church's genealogical crack security team paying us back for slipping through the complex protocols that protect the temple baptismal fonts from random DJB's (Dead Jew Baptisms).

When Monson got the "Broken Arrow" call on Anne Franks he immediately ordered this swift retaliation.

Isn't Will some kind of hotshot programmer?
