I'm very interested in hearing about his decision to resign. I wonder if it was prompted by additional church discipline coming down the pike or recommendation to do so by a PH leader, or if he finally just had enough?

Look at the warning in RED:

His stake prez said he must repudiate every chapter of his origins book AND regain his testimony to forgo being excommunicated.

Grant Palmer is resigning? After all this time?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

"Your faith is tender"? Interesting choice of words.

I feel for Grant. He may have had some hope for LDS.

Listen to part three of the podcast. He felt he was left with the choice to resign or be excommunicated, so he resigned.

There's also some good (written) information on the allegations and William Law's excommunication at Mormonthink.com.
