I haven't made any statement about that. I have stated that I agree and disagree with some things that Palmer has discussed and what those items were. I have never said he was lying or was dishonest in his research and I feel no need to answer any questions along those lines at all.

My only assertions in this thread have been that Grant was not excommunicated. I have also stated that I do not know what books or statements the Church considers lies.

Tobin,

HAVE YOU READ PALMER'S BOOK? ("Insiders Guide To Mormon Origins")

YES or NO???

Why won't you answer this simple question?

If the answer was "yes" he would have answered by now.

I think you are right.

Then we should just disregard any of his accusations that the book contains lies.

Please show where in this thread I stated that Grant was lying. I would like a quote please. Otherwise, you are a LIAR. And I will most definitely make that assertion.

Just stop it. You know you have insinuated over and over again that Palmer's book (and information given in his recent podcast) contains lies and false statements, etc. Read through this thread and the other thread regarding Grant Palmer (the one where you also will not answer direct questions).

By the way....are you now stating that Palmer's book does contain the truth? Or do you still believe it contains lies?

Please answer.

As I said, I have made no assertion (or implication) that Grant is lying. I have also told you that accusing a scholar of lying is a very significant statement and requires a lot of time and resources to do it (so it is rarely done). I certainly do not have either right now.

I have mentioned in this thread (and others) that I actually AGREE with Grant on on a number of issues. My only interest in this thread was to clarify that Grant had not been excommunicated and to explore the possible reasons behind it (based on his statements about it in his Podcast discussing it).

That would explain why the apologetic response to Palmer has been only ad hominem attack and sneering about the Golden Pot.
When, in actuality, the Golden Pot is indirectly related to Mormonism, because both are related to Swedenborg's writings.

Tobin wrote:Uh huh, sure it is. Let me sum up what it really is - hearsay sprinkled with rancid drivel. Just the concoction that enemies of Mormonism love to drink. Sounds lovely. Any TBM with any sense will just ignore it and let it pass like the other non-sense out there.

Thanks for clarifying that (that you do not believe Grant Palmer's book contains lies).

But....you really should read the book.
