Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Mosiah 3:21 21 And behold, when that time cometh, none shall be found blameless before God, except it be little children, only through repentance and faith on the name of the Lord God Omnipotent.
Mosiah 3:18 18 For behold he judgeth, and his judgment is just; and the infant perisheth not that dieth in his infancy; but men drink damnation to their own souls except they humble themselves and become as little children, and believe that salvation was, and is, and is to come, in and through the atoning blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.
If he is omnipotent he has the ability to create man in a quick and painless way. No need for a scenic detour of 3.8 billion years.
Doesn't follow. God can't create a rock so heavy He can't lift it so omnipotent simply means being able to everything that is possible to do at most. Obviously, God is omnipotent relative to man.

No, we don't.
Well, you don't. But Guns, Germs and Steel is on Netflix streaming. You don't even need to read it. So if you choose to remain ignorant, that's your fault. :)

See? You can see how it totally makes sense for Han Solo to talk about making the Kessel Run in terms of parsecs.
In this case, the doctrine doesn't really address evolution.
Thomas Edison was the person who invented the light bulb. Light bulbs first came into existence in the late 1800's.
The above statement doesn't really address ancient Sumerians inventing and using light bulbs.

I was instantly aware of the parsec problem when I first saw the movie. But the problem here is not one of using an incorrect term, it's one of addressing the atheist conclusion about evolution and/or not knowing much about evolution at all.

Aren't you the one who believes evolution is directed by a higher intelligence?

The problem there was not one of using an incorrect term, it's one of addressing the literalist conclusion about dialogue in Star Wars and/or not knowing much about astrophysics at all.
