I'm gonna be sick.

What "blessings" of the priesthood did black members enjoy? They weren't allowed to go to the farking temple! So...the blessing of baptism and sacrament and receiving "healing" blessings. That is what they were limited to.

They couldn't even have a farking eternal family according to the LDS belief system. White women could at least have that.

It's fer yer own good. God's just blessin' ya extra nice so you can't be sons of perdition. LUCKY YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy isn't some outlier. This is what most chapel mo's believe. I've heard this crap in church plenty of times. I've even posted about it here. SO, yeah, not too surprised.

Isn't is wonderful? Isn't it marvelous???

Calm down dear...it will all work out for them, as servants in the CK where they will get to press the clothes of the white folks.

"counsel", not "council". Rather foolish.

I have constantly argued that God has had a history of being discriminating in terms of whom receives the priesthood, but the reasons therefor are usually his alone. Sometimes He gives a reason. In the case of Israel and the Levites, it was because he loved Abraham and chose to make Israel a chosen people. Not necessarily the same as saying everybody else was lesser.

In the case of His attitude towards the Moabites, He said that they could not be admitted to the congregation until the 10th generation because they were inhospitable to Israel. However, He changed his mind when David was a third generation Moabite. Seems the ban there was an editorial error.

But to say women, or blacks, have not been given the priesthood because it would only annoy them and impede their childish progress is just speculative nonsense. Even apostles can err and say that kind of nonsense.

And I'm sure the apologists accused you of lying, or being a member of some rogue ward. It's nice to have a BYU Professor back up your own experiences.

Good of you to drop by.

While we have your attention, do you have an opinion on the topic of this thread, that is, what do you think of Professor's Bott's views on the priesthood ban?

It's "counsel," not "council."

Periods and commas belong inside quotation marks, Bot.

When asked about the priesthood ban the only smart thing for the church to do is say "We were wrong, and we're sorry". Every time they try to rationalize or justify the ban they will just dig themselves into a deeper hole. Just like Bott did.

I realize that is a style guide suggestion, but to emphasize the word instead of the content, the quotes go directly around the word. Yahoo Butt Style Guide.
