So, he swore it off. And then, instead of immersing himself in the literature of his profession and the beautiful things of life, he registered anonymously on a World of Warcraft board to hurl insults at the way the game uses shotguns when it should haven been offering machine guns. Finally, his university demanded to know what he was spending his time on instead of publishing, and he was exposed for the silly fool that he was. A bitter, frivolous man.
I knew another guy who had this really hilarious comedy show that he liked. He watched reruns of it on TV, and bought some seasons of it on DVD. He liked to talk about it with his friends, too, because they also enjoyed the pure comedy gold. He and his friend found it to be an enjoyable diversion; a nice source of entertainment and laughs in their spare time.
The people who were participants on the show took it extremely seriously and didn't realize they were on a comedy show. But that just made it even funnier.
