Kevin,
Since all the Nazis were Leftists does that make Republicans Leftists today?

Quasimodo wrote:The racism of which you speak, a viscous, relentless hostility to blacks for no other reason than their blackness, is primarily a phenomenon of the Reconstruction and post-Reconstruction period, not the practice of slavery itself, where even many of the blacks enslaved would have been hard pressed, from their own cultural perspective, to deny the legitimacy of slavery qua slavery. No one, in other words, wants to be a slave, but that's a long way from a moral or philosophical critique of the institution itself.I had always considered enslavement, rape, murder and torture evils, but now that Droopy has pointed out that they were a normal, excepted and common practice in pre-reconstruction times I can ease my conscience. Thanks Droopy!
Well, I'll now have to revise my estimation of standard reading comprehension levels around here from 6th to 7th to probably 1st or 2nd grade. You're on of those I no longer speak to in here, modo, so consider yourself honored that I'm lowering myself just this once to answer your slander above.
What I've said about slavery as a human institution throughout history is simply a historical fact. I made no mention of its evil or associated evils. The fact that the typical leftist feels no other recourse, even at the outset, than to lie, craftily impugn motives, and head game instead of rationally, civilly, and critically engaging an argument, is very, very telling.
It's comforting to know that the accepted practice of sexual abuse of female slaves by their owners was moral.
Sorry to see you making that argument here, modo. Shame on you. You may feel yourself a bit isolated from the rest of us from now on, however.
Excuse me, quasi, but my saucer's just leaving for earth, and I'm due back for another post.

Oh, I am honored! You can imagine how hurt I am to discover that you no longer speak to me (Sorry, I hadn't noticed).
I see you're calling me "modo" now. That's fine! My name isn't really Quasimodo, anyway (in case you hadn't guessed). You can call me "simo" if you like, as well.
We're such an illiterate bunch that it must be painful for you to comment here. You have to understand that it is very unusual to find such a voluminous vocabulary in one so racist. Generally, people like you have little education. We're just not used to such erudite words coming from your side. You should try to forgive us.

You're so right. Slavery has been an institution throughout history. Who are we to argue that it was a bad thing? If only someone or some organization had objected to slavery, we might have had an argument.
It's touching that you would accuse me of head games. Reading at a second grade level (at best), head games are quite beyond me.

It was quite clever of you to quote me out of context. I'm quite sure no one here is able to see the satire. I'll be a pariah.

Even though you have decided not to respond to me, I will continue to make comments on your posts in the hope that it will soften your heart and release me from this hell of isolation.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Gee, what a surprise here.
And what's that supposed to mean SCUMBAG??? Implying that Republicans are like that? Huh jerkwad???!!!
Just because someone is a Republican doesn't mean he's a Conservative. And just because someone is a Democrat doesn't mean he's liberal. Yes, on both ends there are few of such views, but that's life.
This so-called Republican isn't a Republican at all, he's called a RINO (Republican in name only) jerkwad. Further, there are just as many idiot Democrats who believe the same crap about the Holocaust not happening. There are idiots on all sides freak, so get some friggen TRUTH and fairness for a change in your warped brain!!!

Leftist and white nationalists are strange bedfellows when it comes to the "Jewish question." It must seem odd for both of those camps to find themselves on the same side. Soon we'll have Barak Obama, David Duke, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad all joining hands and coming together in the same fight against their common foe.
My favorite was listening to a Jewish woman tell me how she couldn't talk about politics because she was around a bunch of conservative Republicans and she was raised so liberal. To which we replied, "Liberal on everything except Israel, right."

And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Ahhhh...this is so refreshing. I've long wanted to cut loose on this pestiferous little ignoramus in just this way, but normal impulse controls and desire to maintain some degree of civilized decorum have always prevented me (well, about 98% of the time).
You may have noticed, or not, but Kevin Graham is so utterly ignorant, poorly read, and intellectually shallow regarding matters of politics, political theory, social and political history, and political economy, that debating him with any degree of intellectual coherence is all but impossible.
Its an exercise in futility that all but the hardiest souls have long since given up on (Gee and Peterson don't bother with him at all, anymore, for obvious reasons).

Indeed. Go on over to Discover the Networks and take a gander at the laundry list of academics, intellectuals, and activists of the Left, including major names (like Chomsky, Said, Finklestien, and numbers of western black leftist intellectuals) who carry antisemitic water.
Anti-Israel animus and animus that is indistinguishable from traditional antisemitism is one of the salient features of the contemporary Left, in North America, the U.K., and on the Continent. Where is it most conspicuously absent? That's right, among conservatives, and especially evangelical Protestants.
Now you know why Graham is always calling everyone else "stupid," "dumb," and a "moron." Its a desperate, clawing mechanism of psychological defense used to keep his own deep insecurities regarding his own intellectual abilities at bay.
But those demons are not so easily appeased.

Re: Republican Candidate Says 'Holocaust Never Happened'
Ya..... Since it's allowed here, I decide to let loose and call a spade a spade.
I will happily talk respectfully with someone if they give respect. But me, if it's allowed, I will call people what they are. I do the same in real life. If someone has the gal to talk that way to my face in public, they will get a mouth full.
It amazing the behavior people do on the internet that if they did in real life would result in getting the crap beat out of them. And for you liberal anti-mormon idiots who can't understand logic and common sense, someone like me attacking actual bad behavior with bad words is NOT ME being the bad guy.
Christ wasn't the bad guy for turning over the money changers in His Father's House.
A cop or citizen having to use violence against the violent is not the ones in the wrong.
Context is everything jerks!

It's "gall", not "gal". Gall is another word for bile. It comes from your gall bladder. "Gal" is a word for a young female (slang for "girl"). Respect for you would come easier for you if you checked your spelling and grammar.

Grammar? Also, think about using commas once in a while. I'm sure that Shades could help you with that.

No reason to capitalize "his". Cop/ citizen in this case should be considered singular. Thus "ones" should be "one".
How fun it is to have ldsfaqs, ajax18 and Droopy all on the same thread. Very good English lessons for those of us with a second grade reading level.

Well forgive me JERKWAD..... for moving around a lot in my youth and not learning every single English rule on the planet because of it, as well as being on a Message board and typing and not careing or seeing every typing error.
Sorry, but I prefer what I've learned, i.e. the truth and right of things, over the time you spend learning writing rules.

Re: Republican Candidate Says 'Holocaust Never Happened'
Racism has a biological and cultural basis. It has nothing to do with Left or Right, Liberal or Conservative. Droopy is a victim of the mass media that has tried to divide everyone evenly across two lines so that nothing useful can be accomplished unless it is blessed by the lobbyists and the bank accounts that back them. Everyone is subject to their own cultural bias; the great separation of minds being (not vocabulary, surprisingly) whether or not you are able to see things from the point of view of other people in other cultures with being overly judgmental.
How do you separate the unconscious processes that help you participate in the Great Competition for mates and resources from your "conscious" mind so that you can be fair and objective? Could you even call yourself conscious unless you can transcend it even somewhat? This is why the media in the US, in particular, carefully orchestrates their programs to tap into the fear and emotional responses from people in order to circumvent that rational processes that happen in the front of the brain.
The result is that, while everyone is misdirected into arguing what the illusory Left and Right are doing, and whether or not abortions should be legal or whether or not gay people should be able to get married, the real battle waged by the rich over the poor continues unabated. This battle has been going on since the dawn of man. Slavery is alive and well today. Millions of debt slaves dedicate their entire lives to paying money to the banks. The beauty of modern slavery is that everyone is tricked into thinking that it is their fault they are a slave. But, of course, we are told that this crack-pot version of personal responsibility is the one we should all be subscribing to.
As we have grown as a civilization and increased our awareness, our biological capacity for empathy is enhanced by our understanding of the way people's lives spin themselves out.
The truth is that people's lives end up as such that some are measurably more inferior than others. Do we lay personal responsibility on everyone to read? Is it your fault if you were taught to read or not as a child? Since we can link poverty and other external factors to illiteracy, we, as a society, can find less fault with the individual and more with the society that did not allow that individual to fulfill their potential.
Illiterate children represent a number of problems that we can equate with our failure, as an entire society. Whatever personal responsibility you think other people may be lacking, is also representative of your own lack of responsibility for the other people around you, with whom you share this world and this life. Anyone who may be so concerned with the lack of responsibility of others is looking into a mirror. Droopy lacks the sense of personal responsibility to understand that everyone and everything is his responsibility. THAT is what the true responsibility of any person, especially Christians, is. Taking responsibility for other people is what Christianity is all about. Even a godless person likes me can understand that any time not helping and, instead, spent sitting behind a keyboard and appealing to paper-thin ideologies accomplishes nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
To me, trying to explain away the Holocaust is fair game. You are going to look like an idiot, though, when faced with evidence. Personally, I think the Diary of Anne Frank is a misrepresentation. That doesn't mean there was no genocide. If you are going to try and suggest that people are poor and troubled because they lack personal responsibility, you are going to look like an idiot, as well, because we can always point to the causes leading up to people with common societal problems.
Is that idea a little scary? I bet it is. Spending your own time and resources trying to help other people must seem pretty terrible. It taps right into that selfish, resource-hoarding part of your brain that circumvents your ability to reason.
