That God. What a prankster!

Yes, and to make the story even better (or worse), for two days the God-believers touted the baby's survival as a "miracle." It was all over the news: "Miracle Baby Survives tornado!" So God performed a "miracle" to save the baby, but then changed his mind to let it die. What a dick!

Maybe God is terribly bored with us all, and has resorted to cheap gags for entertainment?

So He picks and chooses whom He helps and whom He doesn't - is that what you believe?

I think it is, based on your response above.

Do you think a persons prayer can make a difference to wether God acts or not?

I have answered your question. Now answer mine.

Fine. So please describe how that would look in this particular circumstance.

It's pretty clear that the believers have no idea what God is up to, and their opinions about God should be universally disregarded as uninformed speculation.

It is disturbing indeed that God holds us to exactly the opposite standards to those which He displays.
Oh? What do you mean?

That might be our fault for expecting something different.
So now we do have a part to play. I thought it was all God's fault.

Whatever people view God as, one thing's for sure - He has left us to fend for ourselves down here.
Isn't that what you want? See, he's answered your prayer.

How many people have you let die while they were asking you to help them?

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
