The celestials are us (the gods) and prior "saved" generations. When we are saved and attain the Celestial Kingdom, this is part of what we partake in - the organizing of the next generation of spirits for the next world. This is not the first Earth nor will it be the last.

Actually, the idea that Mormons can become God is blasphemy and a misconception that only some Mormons (and those outside the church) have.

This particular blasphemy was too much for many of the early saints when they heard Joseph Smith teach it. So, in disagreeing with Smith, Tobin, you are taking a stand like one of the early heroes of Mormonism; yea, even William Law, who said such teachings were "false and damnable." Welcome to the club!
