Radical Islam is on the march. It is being aided and abetted by the Obama administration. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton recently warned at a conference in Tunisia that the Arab Spring is backsliding. The democratic transformation of the Middle East and North Africa is not working out as Mrs. Clinton and President Obama had hoped. Liberal reformers are being eclipsed by Muslim militants. Islamist parties are coming to power. Mr. Obama has no one to blame but himself.

He has encouraged Arab street revolts against corrupt autocracies. Long-standing American allies, such as former Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak, were abandoned. Yet, contrary to his simplistic narrative of freedom fighters battling tyranny, Mr. Obama has helped pave the way for the triumph of Shariah democracy — the drive to establish a global Islamic caliphate.

At his core, Mr. Obama is a radical secular progressive. Like all multiculturalists, he believes in one seminal myth: Mass poverty and oppression in the Third World is America’s fault. Hence, he champions anti-colonial “liberation movements” — the uprisings of repressed peoples, especially those in the Muslim world, chafing under authoritarian rule. Yet he never bothers to ask: What comes next? What kind of regime replaces the previous one? The results are often even worse.

The Arab Spring is turning into an Islamist winter. Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen are now becoming Wahhabi Sunni theocracies. Shariah law is being imposed. Minorities, especially Christians, are being eradicated. Dissidents are imprisoned. Women are oppressed. The Muslim Brotherhood and its allies are in the saddle.

One-man, one-vote is being used by religious fanatics to impose Islamofascist rule.

Mr. Obama has supported every major uprising in the Muslim world — except the only one that truly sought to establish a pro-American, secular democracy. In 2009, Iranians protested stolen elections. The Green Revolution wanted an end to the mullahs, their implacable hostility to the West and the desire for a nuclear-armed Iran.

Millions poured onto the streets of Tehran and other cities. Mr. Obama remained silent. He did not wish to offend the ayatollahs, hoping to appease Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. This act will go down in history as the most craven, reckless decision of the Obama presidency; the moment when America blinked in its confrontation with Iran, squandering a golden opportunity for its besieged people to overthrow the vile clerical fascist regime. For this treachery, Israel — and the Jews — may pay the ultimate price. Mr. Obama turned his back on the Iranian opposition — unlike Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya and now, increasingly, Syria. He has betrayed our friends while rewarding our mortal enemies.

Whether this is a deliberate expression of anti-Americanism and national self-abnegation, or naïve multicultural liberalism, is irrelevant. The pattern is clear: Mr. Obama’s foreign policy has directly empowered the Islamist agenda. Future generations will ask: Who lost the Middle East? Historians will write: Mr. Obama did.

Are most Jews Republican or Democrat? The left's staunch support of Islam throws an interesting wrinkle into their usual antimasculine, antiWASP, and antireligious campaign. But that's the rule of politics, you're enemies enemy is your friend. Long after the WASPs are gone there will still be racism and people will still be enslaving one another. But you sure wouldn't figure that after reading a government approved history book. You'd think a post European world would be some sort of a utopia.

I've had enough. I'm going to go watch another episode of BAIT car. I can't believe Herr Obama still allows it. I would have thought they would have been bound by law to use computer graphics to change the skin color of the thieves to make it politically correct for T.V.

We now know that the entire "Arab spring" meme was a concoction of a deeply uninformed and intellectually pliable mainstream media that, as usual, was not reporting any actual "news" from Egypt or Syria but the contents of their own imaginations.

The "Arab spring" narrative accomplished one thing, however, which was to assist the U.S. government in sleepwalking through the empowering of the Muslim Brotherhood (the original fountainhead of contemporary Wahhabi Islam and worldwide caliphate mythology in the modern world) in Egypt and the triumph of Islamist parties in both Egypt and Syria.

But look, this is all an integral aspect of Obama's central thesis about the Untied States, and the one that has guided his entire governing philosophy. America needs to become more like the decadent, effete, near religionless, militarily skeletal social democracies of Western Europe. There should be no superpower in the world unless every nation can be a superpower, because superpower status just isn't "fair."

Eviscerate the military. Make acts of war against American citizens civilian criminal matters. Degrade the economy to a point of acute economic mediocrity featuring vast expropriation of private wealth through steep, progressive taxation, pick winners and losers in the economy and buy votes through vast government "stimulus" spending funded by inflation, the expropriation or de facto nationalization of key industries (GM, the banking system, housing mortgage markets etc.), the severe degradation of key fossil fuel energy development, production, and distribution (petroleum and especially coal, for which Obama promised complete destruction well before his election), waging of heels-dug-in Kulturkampf against religion and "traditional values," speechifying incessantly about "fairness," equality, and how "we're all in this together," foment and support class warfare and intensify the entitlement mentality at every opportunity, bow and genuflect before foreign dictators, thugs, and kleptocrats around the world as a sign the America is now in a state of moral and political prostration before "the rest of the world" (you know, all those moral paragons that sit on the UN Human Rights Council) to whom it owes apologies (for something or other), and strengthen and support America's enemies at every opportunity while weakening America in relation to those enemies, all of these are a part of Obama's and the Democrat's "governance."

Its the classic, textbook American socialist program that America's leftists have been proposing and scheming to bring to pass for generations. Cloward and Piven could never have imagined such successes 40 or 50 years ago. Alinsky himself would be proud of what his keenest disciples have been able to accomplish.
