SockPuppet, I think you point out an interesting thing about the relatively blank canvas inviting the mythmakers. As applied to Jesus your comment is interesting though I am not exactly sold on it.

Artists or other such subjects of personal myth I think usually design and commence the myth themselves. There could be a compitition between the different myth makers. Dylan certainly worked on being enigmatic to allow myth to grow. Then he was often frustrated by the results created by others.

So my curiosity returns, how in the world did you manage that many Stones concerts? To my ears.located some distance from urban centers and the concert tour path, it sounds quite remote.

Yeah, I hear the Mormons think Jesus wasn't too happy either how Christianity turned out before 1820, the great apostasy stuff and all that too. Jim Morrison on the other hand was pretty happy to just ride the fame wave wherever it took him in life, maybe in death too (if there is an conscious afterlife).

Addiction. The adrenaline rush at Stones shows did, for a long time, beat the effects of any substance I've ever introduced into my body. Today, Guns n' Roses (yea, I know--but D J Ashba is not outdone by Slash in the least), My Darkest Days, Shinedown, Cage the Elephant, etc. are how I get my fixes. (I might even go to Wendover NV Saturday next to see a blast from the past, Joan Jett! After all, I hate myself for loving you! I've got a bad reputation, and I love rock 'n roll!)
