Even taking the New Testament at face value, if you had an ancestor two thousand years ago who gave you responsibility (and due punishment) for his own deeds, would that be just? Would any just God accept this arrangement?

"Let his blood be upon us, and our children."
That this contemptible line was canonized in scripture was used as a justification for the persecution of Jews for two millennia. (Yes, I described it as 'contemptible.')

Isn't that a contradiction at the most basic level?
No, because no group has ever been denied the full blessings of salvation in LDS doctrine and no one, black or white has ever been punished for other than their own sins in that same doctrine. Notice that the context is the Judgement.
What do you think are the "full blessings", bcspace? Who, historically, has been excluded?
Jews excluded the Gentiles. Levites excluded everyone else. Men have always excluded women. The list is long and varied. Why would anyone think God excluded any of his children? What is the justification of that?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Just more proof that god is racist.

The only similarity is the suffering of the Jews after Christ's crucifixion. But, the Jews named their own fate. "Let his blood be upon us, and our children."
Crazy, meet crazy. How either of you can continue this farce that Mormonism has an ounce of truth to it, can, if you wish to play it that way, continue to force us to read this endless blather. Wake up... seriously. Mormonism is false = wrong = not true. It's not Christian, it's not true, it degrades women as objects and people of color as lesser humans. If you want to pretend to drink the blue KoolAid and paint this ruse that you actually believe it, go for it, but it sickens me.

He needs to read the Bible more. Mary Magdalene was the Apostle to the apostles. The first witness of Christ.
Deborah was a judge in Israel. If that's not a bishop I don't know what is.
There's also Junia, she was a leader in the church. Very likely an apostle. Phoebe was a deacon.
If people stop reading Mormonism back into the scriptures they would see things they never knew were there...

Who would actually say something like this? This has the feel of something from Fox News, quoting their own Sean Marcion Hannity from the day before, dissing President Obama.

Judges 4:4
Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
Kings 22:14
So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. (She dwelt in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter.) And they spoke with her.
Nehemiah 6:14
Remember, O my God, all the evil things that Tobiah and Sanballat have done. And remember Noadiah the prophet and all the prophets like her who have tried to intimidate me.
Luke 2:36
And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
