Is that why you're inactive?

Anyway, that's something women in the church say as a signifier of righteousness to the group. It's one of the many excuses/defense mechanisms that have been developed so that we can all pretend that women aren't second-class citizens in the church.

I can attend meetings. But I accept no callings nor responsibilities.

You can attend meetings? That isn't like saying you DO attend meetings, right?

Are you afraid of responsibility?

Because women don't have any similar (but subordinate and demeaning) responsibilities in the church that are equally draining. Nope.

No, they say they don't want it because they have been taught all their lives that they are not allowed to have it and are not supposed to want it.

It's nothing more than obedience.

Many Muslim women think is right that they are so controlled by men as well. Doesn't make it right just because a group has been taught this all their life and think it's right.

The cool thing about Mormon Priesthood power is that nobody can stop me from passing this power to my daughter. The prophet can't even stop me.
