BCSpace, you're on my ignore list since your convoluted logic, verbal masturbation and twisted fallacies are, well, just pointless to argue with anymore.

Mormon doctrine states men can become Gods. Gods can create their own planets. Mormons can therefore get their own planets.

Mormon Cult leaders have decided that this doctrine is embarrassing in trying to mainstream and make everyone think they are really "Christian" therefore; We don't know, we never knew, we have no idea; Why are you attacking us?

bcspace wrote:Nothing has changed. Particularly your use of unofficial sources. But LDS doctrine hasn't changed either on this matter. Gods are Creators and since we become such the possibility of worlds does open up. The Church is merely responding to the yellow journalistic "get your own planet" which in context does not seem to match up with even the non doctrinal sources you used. Looking at these quotes in an LDS context, which you don't seem to have I would never get the impression that becoming a God means I "get my own planet".

If a person looking at the quotes Infymus listed would not get the impression that being a god means "getting your own planet" then why wouldn't the church and church apologists use the quotes from church leaders in answering the question? And why all the fuss about whether the quotes are "official" or not? The prophets said it. They taught it. And you argue that what they said and taught does not support the idea of "getting your own planet," so why try to downplay or ignore the words of your prophets?

How ironic that, once again, the critics use the words of the prophets and the believers and apologists want those words hidden or dismissed or discounted in some way. Quite telling isn't it?

It's actually worse than Infymus has so far suggested.

faceless Mormon PR hacks wrote:This misunderstanding stems from speculative comments unreflective of scriptural doctrine. [emphasis added]

When the Prophet tried to get Mormons to "stand for something", apparently that something was not "modern-day revelation."

With this weasel wordage about scriptural doctrine, the PR hacks seem to want to erase the idea that Mormons accept that true doctrine can be expected to be revealed to the Prophet regardless of whether that doctrine was previously written down in the ancient scriptures or not.

We've been going around teaching how great it is to have real, honest-to-God Prophets for many decades now, and suddenly, in a PR hackfest, the Church is jettisoning teachings from Prophets because they lack scriptural backing? Really?

I agree, the church seems to want to disavow the idea that faithful Mormons can become gods. I honestly can't figure out why they would want to do that. Becoming a god is about the only thing Mormonism has going for it.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

There has NEVER been a "doctrine" that we will get our own planets.

That has simply been a natural assumption and speculation, not a doctrine.

You anti-mormons really need to learn the difference.
This is a KEY reason why you misrepresent everything concerning Mormonism.
You simply don't actually know the religion!

What the church teaches is doctrine. You can find dozens of places where the church still teaches we'll get our own planets.

The Celestial Kingdom

This is the place where our Father in Heaven and Jesus live. It is a place where people will be happy, and it will be more beautiful than we can imagine. The people who will live in this kingdom will love our Father in Heaven and Jesus and will choose to obey Them. They must have repented of all their sins and must have accepted Jesus as their Savior. They must have been baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. They must have a testimony from the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Savior.

To live in the highest part of the celestial kingdom is called exaltation* or eternal life. To be able to live in this part of the celestial kingdom, people must have been married in the temple and must have kept the sacred promises they made in the temple. They will receive everything our Father in Heaven has and will become like Him. They will even be able to have spirit children and make new worlds for them to live on, and do all the things our Father in Heaven has done. People who are not married in the temple may live in other parts of the celestial kingdom, but they will not be exalted.

There it is. Official doctrine. Mormons teach and believe that they will get their own planets. This was published in:

Gospel Fundamentals

It's a fundamental principle of the gospel that faithful Mormons get their own planet. The liar ldsfaqs, he who worships Satan with every exhaled breath, is misrepresenting the church.

Nope..... There are teachings and then there are doctrines. Not all teachings are doctrines.
It always fascinates me how the wicked cannot understand basic logic and fact.

Maybe you should look up the definition of doctrine. You keep embarrassing yourself again. Are you really this dumb or just willing to lie for Satan(I mean God).
