Joseph was banned for threatening to report copyright violations that were not actual copyright violations in order prevent his posting violations from being addressed. Those reports, while not legally legitimate, can and did result in the webhost temporarily taking the board down.
Regarding transparency on this issue, the mods do have private conversations about what is going on and I'd be all in favor of sharing that. But that's something that would have to be collectively decided on.

That's exactly what I was thinking. We have no idea about what might have been expressed in private messages or emails. The board owners have every right to protect themselves and their own interest regardless of what others think.
I don't have the facts but accept the judgment of the court. It could very well be in Jersey Girl's best interest to have been axed.
Everyone needs to shut the hell up and let the board owners and moderators do their job.
Pinkie Pie will be my avatar until my demands are met. To make this more interesting, you must guess what my demands are.
I know what your demands are but i am still trying to figure out what you are going to do with the rubber hose and the nylons.

You think?
Personally I think Shades judgement regarding Darrick [Mod Scottie: removed personal information] was very poor. To allow him to rant on and on and threaten and such as long as he did was foolish. So no I don't think it is just their right to decide on this. Darrick would never have been banned if their had not been a large complaint thread about it.

There is ignore and it works great too. If someone on here is acting "creepy", I find ignoring them often works great and they'll eventually go away since you they can't get you to respond to them. I understand if they take it to the next step and start PMing you that they'll need to be banned for that, but I don't see a need to ban people otherwise. And I agree that Darrick was way out-of-line and the mods were very patient with him until it became painfully obvious that something had to be done.
"You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.... Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful." -- Judge Doom

That is up to Shades. I have no problem with my conversations I have made on the Moderator Forum being made public. It is up to Shades and Harmony to weigh in.
I will say publicly that I am against Jersey Girl's banning, and am literally sick over this entire mess.
