I'm not sure of all what happened with Jersey Girl. I understand that she felt like her life had been threatened. I am asking for some transparency on this issue.
From what I understand to be the facts, I don't think Jersey deserves permanent ban.
With all due respect to Shades, this is the part of the whole thing that confuses me.
Same here. Although I thought Joseph was banned.

Shades, the vacuum created by an absence of information is what has created this crap storm.

Hey, Ceeboo, when did you turn into a Pahoran wannabe?

Hey LDST,
It took you several hours to come up with this intended personal insult?
Very telling indeed.
Peace,

If not, that is a wonderful impersonation.
Pity party. Hey Shades' All in the family
And a family full of different views it is ... does not mean we don't still love you, and our Prodigal Daughter (or the jersey bitch if you prefer).

Yeah, and what's worse, is that we can't log in to chat and get all the underground scuttlebutt from Jersey Girl because she is the one under discipline this time. LOL
She always had the inside scoop before it seemed any notice had ever been posted for the members of this fine board.
How did she do that anyway? Seerstones?

Dr. Shades wrote:I apologize that I haven't been able to weigh in on this matter yet. Ever since the crack of dawn last Friday I've been afforded extremely little Internet time, and this state of affairs won't correct itself until at least Saturday, maybe even Monday.
In the meantime, you can all rest easy knowing that I decided to break character and violate my core principles by perma-banning (for now) a longtime poster for no reason whatsoever. Be assured that I took the action I did without any forethought at all. Rest easy knowing that I didn't agonize over the correct course of action for both the board itself and for the good of all the other posters here. Be at ease knowing that I utterly forgot that Jersey Girl is an Internet friend of mine from way back. You can also be satisfied that I neither consulted with my other moderators nor weighed each of their input with extreme gravity. You can also sleep easy knowing that I didn't spend way too much time during our recent "break" mentally agonizing over what to do about all this.
If you've been reading and/or participating here for any length of time, perhaps I have built up a certain "track record" in your mind regarding the way I moderate. Rest assured that whatever my track record is, I suddenly decided to go against it 180° because I woke up one morning and flipped a coin, since that's so much in character for me.
In short, yes, you're correct; Jersey Girl is pure as the driven snow while Dr. Shades is a nasty, arrogant bastard who routinely bans random people for no reason whatsoever, as you've all seen time and time again.
Ahh, customer satisfaction. It's what I live for.
Hi Shades,
Please forgive me if I do not also apologize to you and offer my regret for voicing my opinion on the matter. I believe it is a very important matter and will impact the board.
I realize that you faced a tough situation (life is full of them, in my opinion).
Anyway, might I suggest that I believe you have missed the mark here. It has nothing to do with the picture you attempt to paint about Jersey Girl being as pure as the white driven snow and poor you as being an evil monster. I don't believe either of your paintings are even close to accurate (Nor do I believe they are adequate responses given what is being discussed).
At the end of the day, we all decide to participate in this community. There are many different reasons why we all make the choice to do so. Like the rest of the members here, I will look at the community, as a whole, and make my choice.
The value and worth of any community is deeply rooted in the diversity and singularity of each and every member within said community.
There are some things that I believe are worth standing for. A long time and frequent contributor of this community is indeed one of them. Should any of us find ourselves in a similar situation, I would like to think that we would enjoy the benefit of the doubt that might be extended in our direction.
Peace,
Ceeboo
