Buzz words like offensive and bigotry are used often to silence the opposition through emotional force. A lot like how people scream "racism" anytime someone disagrees with Obama and his policies.

These methods are repeated just to basically avoid actual intelligent discussion by giving reasons just to toss their views aside. It is far easier to simply label something as evil than actually address the concern.

I think a lot of this debate is a product of laziness.

It IMHO legitimizes the condition as an uncontrolled sickness rather than a disgusting choice.

Pedophilia appears to be some sort of mental disorder. Do you think regular people are just up and choosing to be attracted to kids? The outcome is disgusting and criminal (when acted upon), but I have no problem describing it as a disability and a disorder.
