No, I'm not forgetting it. I just don't want to try to force my beliefs on someone else.

But were you not boasting of their superiority?
All I asked for is validation of such affirmations. Or even a reason why what the Book of Mormon says should carry any weight?

Stealhead, this article I wrote is not associated with the Book of Mormon, and whose superiority are you talking about?

Furthermore, all those who "have been cleansed from sin every whit," as the Book of Mormon states, and have the priesthood authority from God, can also be delegated this power. The Book of Mormon also states truly that if God were not just then He would cease to be God.
Of course, I am confident that will never happen! Now I would like to ask a question. What man made religion could come up with such glorious truths?!?
Are we reading from the same OP?

Re: The Light of Christ
Yea, mainstream Christianity views it somewhat that way. However, there are prophets mentioned in the New Testament after the mortal ministry of Christ. Also, the scriptures teach that the Lord will do nothing except He first reveal His secrets to His servants the prophets (see Amos 3:7). Therefore, when the time came for the great "restitution of all things" (see Acts 3:19-21), there were prophets needed also to help with this work and reveal exactly how the Lord wanted this to be accomplished. These prophets also bear witness of Christ, and will bear witness of His second coming also.

Hi gdemetz,
You should cite your sources, in this case W. Cleon Skousen's "A personal search for the atonement."
I'll give you credit that this is a solid Chapel Mormon revealed mystery though.
THe Book of Mormon also states truly that if God were not just then He would cease to be God. Why? Because all these intelligences which make up the light of Christ would no longer support an unjust God,

Re: The Light of Christ
I think that is a standard reading of the Book of Mormon passage in question, but I think the proper reading is simply a a common protestant argument to tautology. God is definition good, therefore God wouldn't be God if he did something immoral. Therefore, God won't do something immoral. God can't let a desire for mercy to allow injustice. This argument loses its force when combined with the other common protestant belief that whatever God does is by definition good. Therefore there is nothing that God does that could be viewed as immoral and therefore no possible action of God's that we can consider out of bounds due to being immoral. But that's neither here nor there.

Yea, but when you site other protestant groups, or even more so Catholics for that matter, it loses a lot of credibility with me as they are ones who believe in some vague God who is everywhere but no where in particular. You could have cited worse, such as the Christian Scientist who believe that God fills all space and is just a combination of all good qualities such as love, happiness, peace etc. However, the Book of Mormon, as well as the Bible for that matter, teaches concerning the real personage of God, a God who thinks and still has free agency. Having stated that, I will also state that I am sure that God is far too intelligent to make a mistake such as not being just.

I don't think that you are understanding that for Christians, Catholic and Protestant, Jesus IS God.
