Truly it is a sad day when atheism is compared with religion. I remember in WWII after carrying my badly wounded best friend hundreds of yards through enemy territory where machine gun fire ripped the clothes off me, only to have him die in my arms. As he died he implored me to teach America’s youth about the evils of atheism. To honor his memory I dedicated every home run I hit for the Cardinals to his memory and to the never ending fight against atheism. No Sir!!! Atheism is not a religion and neither I nor the 300 men whose lives I saved in Vietnam who join with me in this holy crusade against the Godless will ever allow it to become one.

Well, I hope you comforted his mother with tales of eternal life too.

American Atheists appear to be more of an advocacy group promoting the separation of church and state. That's sounds...pretty constitutional.

And did you not get your invite to their general conference? It happened in DC. It was called the "Reason Rally".

I've never even read Dawkins so he hasn't influenced my thoughts about any Deities or lack thereof. I've been far more influenced by the absence of any hint of the supernatural in my life.
