And a vast majority of Mormons are taking pills to help them cope with staying members.

Better than the vast majority of non-mormons who turn to alcohol and illegal drugs to deal with life itself.

Are you getting this information from the same source that told you teen pregnancy rates and violent crime were up?

I have to disagree with the bolded portion...

His transparently obvious lie in the BBC interview, where he feigns surprise when asked about Joseph Smith's trial for being a con man, made me realize that he fully knows it's a bunch of hooey, but he has too far to fall if the great and spacious building were to collapse now...

He's no longer lyin' for the lord, he's lookin' out for numero uno.

Not at all. I thought you were being the erudite one with your neat turn of phrase.

I just happen to know the book having read the first part (The Sword and the Stone) when I was thirteen and absolutely falling in love with it.

It was only when I was in my twenties (post-mission) that I read the last three parts and realized this was no mere children's story.

I think your charitable reading does you credit, MsJack.

And I should add that this was the first time I can recall the parable of the laborers in the vineyard coming up for discussion in general conference, or in any other church venue I can remember. It is usually avoided because Mormons are so dead set against death bed repentance.

Props to Elder Holland for emphasizing grace in his talk, too.

I just remember feeling uncomfortable when he was indicating everybody in the world is a Mormon, was a Mormon, or will be a Mormon.

He could have simply deleted those two "yetis" and not sounded so abominable.
