Re: Official Atheist doctrine
DarkHelmet has turned into some sort of bizarre atheist version of BCspace. I don't know if I like this turn of events.
"A man is accepted into a church for what he believes and he is turned out for what he knows." - Samuel Clemens
The name of the "king" in Facsimile No. 3 of the Book of Abraham is Isis. Yes...that is her name.

First science, then the maths...it's all a big godless plot.

You can't save a child's soul after he's learned Algebra. You just can't. The Devil's talons are in too deep by that point.

This was just a typo then?jskains wrote:Atheists have declared war on religion. And a war they shall have.
No, it is your inability to comprehend. A common flaw here.

In what manner are atheists waging war on you, and in what way are you intending that "a war they shall have"?

Re: Official Atheist doctrine
Fortunately we have had some clarification from one of our number who speaks on our unorganised behalf.
These same patterns are followed today in the restored Logic of Atheism. Anyone may announce or interpret doctrines based on rational thought processes and factual evidence that comes to him (see, for example, The National Geographic). Doctrinal exposition may also come through the combined council of just about anyone capable of thinking for themselves (see, for example, The Smithsonian). Council deliberations will often include a weighing of precedent, the teachings of scientists, and past findings. But in the end, just as in all other walks of life, the objective is simply consensus among people based on logic and facts and rational thought. It is a process involving reason but not faith in the mind and will of some supernatural entity.
At the same time it should be remembered that not every statement made by an Atheist, past or present, necessarily constitutes doctrine. It is commonly understood that a statement made by one athest on a single occasion often represents a personal, though well-considered, opinion, not meant to be official or binding for the whole of Atheism. Life has taught us that personal opinion should be open to test and scrutiny before it can be declared officially correct.
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”

I must have missed them - could you post the links again?
Edit: found the Christian site. Do you have to original source material?
