Re: The pinnacle of cultural Mormonism
You aren't going to care. You'll be gone.
After my last bad mammogram, I told my husband if I go before him, I want to be cremated. He was stunned. I was adamant. I do not want to go in the ground, and I don't really care how uncomfortable he feels about putting an urn on the fireplace mantle. He's not going to have the funeral I'd want anyway, but I want him to know what I want, so there's no confusion at the last.
She's going to be under some pretty steep social pressure, just my husband is going to be. So she (and he) will likely cave under that pressure. Me, I'm not gonna care either way.
I'm sorry to hear about the situation, though. Hang in there; I've got some extra good luck I've been storing (2 years supply you know, but I'm down to my last 3 months worth--been a heckuva year so far), so I'll send some your way.

(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Dear rock,
Please add me to the list of people who care, are thinking of you, and will be adding you to my personal prayers.
I am sorry to hear about what you find yourself having to battle/face/deal with.
Peace to you, friend.

I am so sorry that you are having health issues. I hope for the best possible results.
I am also sorry that you don't believe your family will respect your wishes. I'm not sure I understand why they would think dressing you up in the garb would help in some way if you didn't believe it in the first place. Or is it due to social pressures?
I am sorry, too. Take care of yourself!

My prayers for you. It does not have to turn out bad. There are plenty of survivors, and I know you are one.

Hey Rockslider,
It is OP's like yours that reinforce my world view "we're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time".
I wish you a pain free recovery.
I fully intend putting into my will that I demand to be buried in a Gold Leopard skin thong with co-ordinating nipple tassels.
