I suspect that if some volunteer on the Neighborhood Watch patrol in Provo, Utah had shot an unarmed suspect the story would rate but one scant news report on local TV. However, if we made the unarmed suspect a teenager looking forward to entering the Missionary Training Center, the entire news perspective would be changed. Disgruntled Mormon-Americans would be crying for justice.

First a Mormon missionary generally isn't some "punk kid" who will cold cock someone when they are walking away, and the jump on them and banging their head on the ground, and then the person to defend himself shoots the missionary.

Sorry, but most Mormons aren't stupid like you liberals. If the details were the same, we would have little sympathy for the so-called "missionary".

Further, Mormons are killed all the time, and we don't have a hissy fit. We might comment on it, but we don't have "protests", act like the ignorant mob. That's something you anti-mormons and liberals do. You've done such many times all through American history, and yearly (a.k.a. Occupy Wallstreet).

Um, no. Mormons are not "killed all the time." Mormons do not proselyte in countries where Christianity is illegal, so there are few places in the world where Mormons run any risk to their physical safety just for being Mormon. When Mormons die prematurely, it's almost always due to reasons that have nothing to do with them being Mormons (like automobile accidents). That is why no one has "hissy fits" over it.

I would appreciate it if you would provide some links to these Church News stories about Mormons being killed somewhere in the world in incidents that have something to do with them being Mormon. I don't keep up on the deaths of all Mormons, but I do tend to pay attention to Mormon missionary deaths. They are almost all accidents, not murders, and even the ones that are murders show no evidence of being religiously motivated.

This blog post, for example, lists Mormon missionary deaths from 1999 - 2006. Almost all of the deaths from non-natural causes were accidents, not murders.

Even if you are correct though and an average of one Mormon is killed every year for religious reasons, that's hardly what I would characterize as "all the time."

Bottom line is.... We don't picket the streets (literally or figuratively) simply because some injustice, but especially "perceived" injustice has occurred.
