Consiglieri Blacklisted

Post by _consiglieri »

A few months ago, when I was visiting him at the hospital after heart surgery, the current sixty-something GD teacher told me he was instructed by our ward sunday school president that I was not to be asked to substitute teach the class.

Because I know the SS president to be pretty straight-lace, this didn't surprise me.

But I told the GD teacher I was going to confront the SS president about it, which I did last Sunday after priesthood meeting.

I asked the SS president if it were true that I was not allowed to substitute teach. He told me it was true, but that it didn't come from him. Rather, this is what he was instructed by our bishop at the time he was called as the SS president.

I phoned the GD teacher yesterday and told him what happened. He was surprised the directive had come from the bishop, and started saying the problem was that I actually tried to teach people something. (We have had this discussion a number of times.)

I told him I appreciated his saying so, but that he and I were talking about the actual issue--my teaching style.

I told him the problem I have is that nobody (whether the bishop or the SS president) has ever talked to me about the real issue, but instead have gone behind my back in order to have me blacklisted from teaching anything in our ward, even as a substitute.

The GD teacher told me I would be his first choice to substitute in his class but for the fact that he is strictly prohibited from doing so.

Thoughts?

Hmmm...
How bout: why do you continue in a organization that censors you for teaching truth?

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Go see the Bishop...

Hi Bishop, have you got a minute?

Sure Consig, come right in.

So Bishop, I'm being told that I am banned from being a substitute GD teacher and that you are the source of the ban. What gives?

Also, if after consulting with the bishop, you feel like he has acted improperly, go over his head and talk to the stake president about it.

From what I have gathered in reading your past posts about your teaching style and the content of the lesson, you appear to have a desire to either simply enlighten them with the truth about the complex and very boring religion that was foisted upon them by their parents, or turn these sweet little fluffy chapel Mormon sheep into ravenous anti-mormon hunting internet Mormons.

How can you not become a internet Mormon once you know that Joseph stuck his face in a hat and his hand up the blouses of young girls? Or being beat about the head with a rolled up piece of papyrus??

Perhaps you have caused some of your wouldbe unwitting fellow members to go Googling and thereby pay the bishop a visit demanding to know why Joseph was scoring young tail or why the rediscovery of the papyrus is not openly discussed?

OR WORSE, your lesson causes them to Google so much that most of their seminary experience is now scattered along the cyber highway on their one way trip to the slippery slope at the great and abominable apostasy amusement park?

Most mo'sheep do not want, nor have time to dig deep into the religion that already sucks 20+ hours of their life each week.

They want a GD instructor who will pass out warm bottles of milk to the adults.

Not you, the meat slinging cowboy.

One thought springing to mind is that at least they seem to have probably chosen the second best GD teacher in the ward for the job.

In the underlined question lies the problem. You ask for thoughts. How dare you wake the sleeping cognitive powers of the sheep!
