Re: This image of Mormon Jesus® on LDS™.org made me laugh
I've told this story before, but it's worth mentioning in this thread:
I played a role in bringing the artist of this photo to the United States... I was working as an art gallery manager in the late 90's, and Donny Osmond brought in the very image in the OP. Donny's son sent it to Donny and family from England, where he was serving as a missionary, and Donny brought the print in to have it framed.
As a TBM at the time (not to mention a deeply closed gay man), I loved the photo (I laugh at all the jokes in this thread, now--but what can I say...? I though Scandanavian Buff Jesus was HOT and would sell like crazy in Utah County!). So I tracked down the artist in England, and we flew him over and hosted his first artist show here in the states. Eventually, he moved over and made it BIG in LDS art, and now graces the covers and interior of the Ensign and LDS general authorities books...
And all because of Hot Scandanavian Jesus. :)
