Father Mulcahy was a well known boxer and punched out a few people during the series' run, just like Dr. Peterson did during his time in Korea.

DCP didn't punch anyone out. Instead, he himself got punched out--rhetorically speaking, that is. He repeatedly got his ass handed to him while on his mission in Switzerland; this was apparently a formative experience in the development of his identity as a Mopologist. He mentions all this at length in his "Mormon Stories" interview with Dan Wotherspoon.
