Why does Droopy hate uppity women so much?

In a former life, he got his ass kicked by this lovely lady here…

She would have been much happier as a plural wife living in a Mormon commune.

...she still would've kicked Droopy's ass, though.

You know, Dr. Ruth served as a sniper, too. During the Israeli war of independence.

Droopy wrote:"God," then is not both a man and a woman, but both

1. God, The Father, whom we worship and pray to directly.

2. The Godhead, or entire Grand Council of the Heavens as a united body.

Do you believe that Heavenly Mother is a member of either the Godhead or this "Grand Council of the Heavens," Droopy?

That is a little disturbing. I assume #1 is the man in the relationship, so that means #2 is the woman. Sounds kinky.

Joanna's right, though, about Heavenly Mother being taboo. One of the recently revised Sunday school manuals changed "heavenly parents" to just "Heavenly Father."

I suspect that's why they're not canonizing the proclamation on the family - it also refers to heavenly parents. They're trying to phase out Heavenly Mother very slowly.

The next time they revise the hymn book, do you suppose O My Father will still be there? Probably not.

sixties?

Why did you ignore major milestones prior to the sixties?

Education reform of the mid to late 19th century?
The Woman's Bible near the turn of the century?
Relaxing of clothing restrictions in the 20s?
Charles Knowlton's Fruits of Philosophy?
My fav: WASP pilots of WWII (true angels of the sky)?

It seems you have totally forgotten the First Wave!

I have not forgotten the First Wave. Joanna Brooks, and post-sixties feminism (that represented by people like Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Shulamith Firestone, Anne Koedt (originator of the idea of "raising consciousness" within Second Wave feminism) and with antecedents reaching back to Simone de Beauvoir) has little to do with the First Wave and its central concerns, with which I have little, if any, criticism. Groups like NOW have little to do with the Suffragettes.

Were would Droopy be without Wikipedia? It'd be so much harder to pretend he knows anything about feminism if he were just going from memory of Rush Limbaugh's career-long rants about "feminazis."

You're right. He could at least have damned Seneca Falls. I think that, for Droopy, all evil really began in the sixties.

The long decline of both American culture and its representative constitution form of government began in earnes in the thirties, and then was forced into a roughly 25 year hiatus by WWII and a strong conservative mood among the general population, that lasted until the mid-sixties, when the progressive project reemerged as The Great Society. Beginning in the last sixties, and for a variety of reasons, the American society at a deeper level underwent a vast, multivariate, and severe shift in its core values, ideals, and political trajectory lead by a cohort of the "baby boom" generation and egged on by the "old Left" of the thirties.

That cultural shift imposed permanent changes upon our culture and its institutions, and Second Wave feminism was among the forms or manifestations of Cultural Marxism that emerged at that time and took hold of the American intelligentsia.

He only knows what Rush Limbaugh tells him. The only feminists they know about are the feminazis, which are Gloria Steinam and her ilk. They have no knowledge of feminists like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. To them, all feminists are just feminazis. In a male only hierarchical organization such as the Mormon church, women must be kept in their place, or you risk anarchy.

Now that's the kind of facile, intellectual vacuity I expect from a typical leftist. Keep the home fires burning, Helmet, you do your tradition proud.
