Nominating Romney is the best chance for another four years of Obama. And I fail to see how Ann's any different from any other rich man's wife.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I've never been particularly enthusiastic about Ann Romney, but I thought she came off very graciously when she was interviewed on Fox News in the wake of Hilary Rosen's attack on her. She is definitely an asset to the campaign.

That said, Romney will need more than a charismatic wife to land this. Republicans won big in 2010 in part because women (especially single women, who have traditionally supported Democrats) swung toward them. Ann Romney alone is not going to insure that they stick with the RNC this November.

I mean Elizabeth Edwards was a nice lady, but that doesn't mean I would vote for John's dumb ass.

I wish that, too. However, while the wives usually don't make or break the campaign, they do flavor it. A candidate wants a Michelle Obama or an Ann Romney at his* side, not a Teresa Heinz.

(*Disclaimer: I say "his" because the only female candidates on major tickets have been Sarah Palin and Geraldine Ferraro, and I don't think their husbands were noticed very much in either case, so we've yet to see how much of a factor husbands of female candidates are.)

Romney is the only candidate that has a chance (a small chance). But the GOP field of candidates was pretty poor. Newt Gingrich? Santorum?? Bachmann??? Cuckoo, all of them.

Right! *rolleyes* The Republican morons like Palin, Bachmann , Santorum, Jan Brewer etc., etc. are smarter than the Democrat's morons. O_o!

BC, your party has it's fair share of those from the "low end of the intellectual spectrum" although it may pain you to admit it.

Was that before or after she was caught telling supporters that Rosen's statement was like an early birthday present? She's a political animal, like her husband.

Of course, most wives of men who aspire to such a powerful position are.

I'm sure she's far more likeable than Mitt, but that isn't a very high bar. But she better try to avoid saying things like "it's our turn" in the future. The smell of entitlement from the Romneys isn't very pleasant.

If people really voted based on the candidates' wives, that still wouldn't give Romney any advantage. Michelle Obama has a higher favorability rating than Ann Romney.
