I'm glad that you're posting here static. I hope you stick around. It's more welcoming here than you suspect.

If your reason for stumbling upon this board (i.e., looking specifically for Nibley's "biological" son) is at odds with your reason for posting on the board (i.e., deriding people for wondering if somebody is Nibley's biological son), then the nuances do matter, because they mean your story doesn't make sense.
static wrote:You aren't required to believe anything I'm saying.
No worries there. I don't believe you. Your story can't be true, because you registered a user account with the board more than an hour before the message you claim brought you to the board was posted.
static wrote:In fact, please go on with the "who is the new guy" game. I thought I'd be able to share some thoughts or discuss some things here, but it appears that many of the citizens of this community are too busy trying to dislike the outsider. I'll leave it at that, I suppose, if I can't have the benefit of the doubt here.
Most outsiders don't use their first post to mock another new member of the board, and then, when questioned, lie to the community about how they found the board. That tells everybody you are an ineptly-managed sock puppet, and nobody will ever trust you. I'll leave it at that, I suppose.

Chap wrote:Well, per the OP, it has to be someone who can't tell the difference between "peaked" and "piqued" (no, an error like that can't be a typo). That is not Daniel Peterson, I'd bet. Instead, we are probably looking for someone who is rather less educated than they would like to be taken for, and rather pretentious in his writing style.
Thank you for the correction. I don't know that I had ever before taken note of the difference.

Who the hell are you? What's the king's name in Facsimile No. 3?

You see, I do like to read about past LDS scholars and leaders, and, having a lot of free time this week, was curious about the publicly available information about the Nibley family. That is neither here nor there, but it does show you how I came upon this club where outsiders are shunned.
Maybe this is just my settings, but I show static joined on 4/26 at 12:34 PM, and the OP (which the Google search finds) was posted on 4/26 at 1:49 PM. Are my time zone settings to blame, or should I worry that Google has somehow become prophetic?
Much more interesting is that Tabitha and static joined the board within one minute of each other.
Thanks to Greg Jordan for peeling both socks off.
I wish Radex or Nibley's Ghost would show up and comment.

Everyone knows the king's name in Facsimile 3 Paul. It's Jesus. Jesus Christ. That's right Jesus Hickory Christ.

Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07

But he was the king of the Jews, not the Egyptians. And, accordingly he only went to Egypt one time, as a tot.

Re: Is Schyver Nibley's Biological Son?
Since "static" enjoys our speculation into his identity, I will proceed by making a few observations:
1. Tabitha is not Will or Daniel Peterson, obviously. Neither one would misspell piqued. Will is very fastidious about his orthography.
2. The repeated complaints about how unwelcoming this place is, as well as the goofy conspiracist-alien persona, which has been constructed in order to ridicule us, have the name Joshua Skains written all over them. Another option is Simon Belmont.
3. Neither Will nor Daniel Peterson would really care to repeat ad nauseam the complaint mentioned in #2. Either Skains or Belmont would happily go on forever repeating the same grade school comments about how mean we are.
4. So, we are probably looking at a junior low-tier apologist of limited abilities who is putting on airs. Skains or Belmont.
5. If Tabitha and static joined 1 minute apart, they are most likely the same individual.

Kish, I believe we only have to summon Nibley's Ghost to clear all this up....
Perhaps I should post my relevant contribution from the "Draw Your Favorite MDB Poster" thread again.

True, but then it would spoil all of my fun.
On the other hand, seeing your excellent artwork grace another thread would make it all worthwhile.
