this from watching EA take Droopy apart on this issue.
EA has no coherent concept of what he's actually arguing, and he exaggerates the highly conjectural nature of the brain science evidence that does exist (that shows possible predisposition and bias, and nothing more).
EA and I actually agree on most details of the brain science as its stands at present. The problem is that Delusion is forced by his personal philosophy to leap well beyond that evidence into areas that evidence can tell us nothing about. This is apparently both because of his intense secular humanist world view and "physicalist" (essentially metaphysical materialist) philosophy in which all human phenomena - including all mental, psychological, moral, and social/cultural phenomena - are nothing more than epiphenomena of brain chemistry and physiology.
There is strong evidence that genetic, biological factors are responsible, in some percentage of the homosexual population, for predispositions, tendencies, and biases relating to any number of emotional, psychological, and cognitive attributes involved in the development of SSA.
There is not a shred of scientific evidence that homosexuality is biologically innately imprinted in a human organism in a clear, deterministic, reductionsitic manner as a discreet, isolatable, biologically centered cause and effect process.
It just doesn't exist. It is also quite likely that biological/genetic variables are responsible, to some degree or another, for numerous other predispositions and susceptibilities to various influences, stimuli, and experiences, particularly in the early developmental stages of childhood.
This is not a matter of biological cause = effect, however, but of tendency and bias interacting with psychological dynamics, environment, and complex, unique personological variables.
EA is just another manifestation of the amoral, generally leftist but also radical secular libertarian, neo-Enlightenment scientism that has so blighted the human experience for so long and which reduces all value judgments, ethical positions, moral boundaries, and philosophical questions to atoms and their various interactions with one another.
EA doesn't like being termed a leftist, but he's far closer (as are many "strong" libertarians) to a significant branch of the Left than he thinks.
The modern intellectual fashion for genetic determination in everything, including homosexuality, is just
