Does it bother you that Joanna Brooks is featured on MST?
Yes, it does a bit, because I don't think she was properly vetted before placing her "testimony" on that website. I've mentioned this before. Brooks is certainly a Mormon, and certainly a degreed academic (the fundamental focus of that website), but her vague, featureless, rambling testimony of impressionistic feelings and perceptions of LDS culture, tradition, and fundamental, yet curiously nebulous central LDS doctrines do not strike me as an LDS testimony in any salient or clear way.
A good working knowledge of her personal philosophical and political views, however, available at her own website and at Religion Dispatches, will provide anyone curious about this with a good deal of insight into just why her "testimony" appears and has the form that it does.
Well, Droopy, maybe you can request that Greg Smith write a smear piece about her instead of John Dehlin.

I apologize, I suspected the worst and acted on my gut feeling, but it turned out to be wrong. I didn't intend to to put you on the buisness end of my cantankerous side, but intentions be damned. I take back what I said about you trying to get things removed from here.

I commend you for this.
I don't act for the greater good, or any individual good. I don't want to work out Utilitarian calculus to do ethics.

I should have called him a "failure of the leftist academic milieu" and "lacking in conservative cultural capital and chutzpah".
Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07
MASH quotes I peeked in the back [of the Bible] Frank, the Devil did it. I avoid church religiously. This isn't one of my sermons, I expect you to listen.
