True, she probably doesn't. I assume most members would know about those things because they very publicly announced in general conference that two apostles would be living abroad for extended periods of time in those countries. Since the church never broadly advertised what they did (closing and consolidating units), I guess it was foolish to assume that she would have figured this out.

John,

Thanks for the quick reply and for the comments.

I have to admit that this particular sister's announcements took me by surprise. Given the number of false rumors circulating among Brighamite/Woodrufite LDS members about the impending fire sale of all CofC posessions, my first reaction was to laugh out loud and not believe a word she was saying.

However, since the sales were legitimate, I was curious how this sister's interpretation of the events would fare against reality. She was giving the standard narrative that this is a sign of the times, that the Brighamite/Woodrufite Saints would soon get possession of the all the important sites (those mentioned in the Brighamite/Woodrufite D&C as being prophetically important), and that this was a vindication of the truthfulness of her side's version of things. It seems the exact opposite has happened. Instead of being a prelude to getting the more coveted historical sites, this appears to make future sales of land less likely, as the proceeds will be funding endowments for the crown jewels.

Facts can be so cruel.

And let us not forget the 6000 acres of farmland that the produce will not be given to the poor.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
