He went through a rough patch before the VHS. Many porn stars did not want to work with him. They did not find him very attractive. Of course, the women in porn were not many before the VHS...The VHS made porn a cheap enterprise to produce with maximum profits and many companies started up...opening up the industry to many more women and Ron was back in business.

I think porn addicts give it up for a while and then after a while they return to the addiction, refreshed. The problem is: porn imaging is hard to get out of the brain. Eventually, the impulse returns and the person begins to view it again.
