What I love is that the majority of the 20 pages comprises stemelbow's and static's denials that the hit piece exists, their accusations that John was lying, and our refutations of the same. And Hamblin and DCP now admit that we were right, even as they cast aspersions on us for spending 20 pages discussing the subject.
I really only questioned whether calling it a "hit piece" was fair. I did not deny there was some sort of writing or essay. I question it because DCP seemed to wonder why it was being described as a hit piece, indeed it appears he would not call it such at all.

Hamblin's response confirms it is a hit piece.

Steamplow,
You appear to be way to trusting of a person. You hoped MI would not support a hit piece like this so you denied, then you denied it was a hit piece but rather a critique. Wild Bill has since admitted it is a hit piece type document. When are you going to learn?

DCP denies it's a hit piece. And, I am of the opinion it could very well be considered a hit piece by people. But no one has read it, aside froma few, none of which are here.

If and when this piece may come out it definitely will not contain everything that was originally in it. It would/will for sure have some items edited out. Would be naïve to believe otherwise. The

Oh, I know that. But let's face it, no one was afraid of the content so much as concerned about the venue. In some ways the content would make for interesting reading. Greg Smith is a smart fellow and a good writer. I don't always agree with his judgment (Schryver's Book of Abraham apologetic) or his aims, but I respect his talent and would have found it an interesting read.
What I didn't care for was the way it would have come out with the aura of Church authority attached to it.

It will be like the lost 116 pages. Fallen into the hands of evil doers and bereft of its original content.

Okay, THAT is funny!

(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Yes, he would not. There is clearly a disagreement about what constitutes a hit piece. OK, now, since we know that Daniel and John would not agree on the definition of hit piece, and that John feels that other things published through FARMS/NMI would qualify as such, can you understand that when word came to John from within the NMI itself that a hit piece about him might be published through NMI, he would be inclined to think it was a hit piece and try to do something about it?
Does that sound unreasonable to you?
