Does Harry Reid lose his Temple Recommend?
Is this grounds for revoking a temple recommend? I could hardly believe it when I read it. He came out and supports gay marriage!!!!

Re: Does Harry Reid lose his Temple Recommend?
Back when I was TBM, I would have said, "Of course not. The church does not dictate politics to it's members. Church members are not robots. We are free to form our own opinions about politics and the issues of the day." But the apologists here have taught me that that is not true. Mormons are expected to have the same political beliefs as their leaders. When their leaders have spoken, the debate is over. Harry Reid should lose his TR.

Who says HR has a current TR now? Is he active in Church?
Looks like your article got scrubbed.
Grounds for excommunication could come from HR on the Capitol steps haranguing all those who support the marriage amendment on the same day the Church had a couple of apostles in town to support the same.
No LDS Democrat can honestly answer this question in the negative:
"Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?"

So...Temples are full of dishonest people...unworthily conducting ordinances on behalf of dead people...

Harry is way too powerful an asset to chastise. And my understanding is that not only is he active but has a calling as a teacher.

I think in Harry Reid's mind, only he and his fellow Democratic Mormons are allowed TRs.

That's weird, because BC Space and Droopy say only Conservative Republicans make good Mormons. Isn't it weird that political extremists believe only their political views are correct?

That's at least as valid as BC's claim that only Republicans can be good Mormons, if not more so.

Reid and others are the traditional Mormons. They ought to be RLDS.
I think the decision to go to Nauvoo was the turning point, in terms of accumulated bad decisions. http://www.mormonhistoricsitesfoundatio ... ennett.pdf
Need I quote from the D&C?
While John P. Greene and others
were out scouting the Galland properties for what eventually did become
Nauvoo, Edward Partridge, Presiding Bishop of the Church, thought that in
light of their recent Missouri difficulties, “it was not expedient under the
present circumstances to collect together, but thought it was better to scatter
into different parts and provide for the poor.”39
Consequently, they scattered hither and thither into numerous small
communities and farmlands within a fifty- to seventy-five-mile radius of
Quincy.
