Classy.
Ok Buffalo. I'll gather the links to the multiple times you have used this insult to assassinate my character. I am not as fast as Scratch, so it might take some time.

Why would you create a board that doesn't cater for yourself?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. You keep imagining this is polite board with kind people and big ol' mean me just turns it upside down.

P.S. Try to find the insult.
No, you're right. Saying someone is mentally challenged, without actually knowing them, is not an insult. It is saying, I'm engaging in a conversation with you, despite your being mentally challenged, because I believe my discussion will lead to your edification (even though you do not understand a single word of what I'm talking about).
I expect you, jskains, to carry on similar discussions with garbage cans and passing swallows as the opportunity presents itself. And no, I do not expect garbage cans or swallows to be offended, in fact, they should feel privileged that you would deign to spend time explaining the intricacies of polygamous life to them.
Good luck with that.
And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love...you make. PMcC

That was disconnected. Entertaining, but certainly disconnected.

For Jesus' sake. Can this thread please get back on topic. WTH?

You have to understand that the temple ceremonies were a new concept (the temple wasn't even completed) and everyone from the prophet on down were confused. You can find men sealed to men, women sealed to women and it is all one big mess. There was also this dynastic marriage concept going on and the secret practice of polygamy.
Buffalo and company like to read into it perverse ideas like infidelity and adultery. There is no evidence of that what-so-ever. And there certainly isn't any proof of Joseph Smith having sex with perviously married women. I do know that he did have sex with young women that were only married to him and that is what you'd expect in polygamy. Again, Buffalo and company like to state that it was with all the wives or takes statements from these polygamist wives that they had been with the prophet and apply it to the dynastic marriges which were more about salvation and not about sex.
The only married wife who made a statement about it was Sylvia to her daughter Josephine that she was Joseph Smith's daughter. I take that to mean in the eternities since she isn't his biological daughter. Buffalo and company state definitively that Sylvia had sex with Joseph Smith because of this statement which is a complete mischaracterization and clearly not biologically true.
I do understand the history of the temples and the temple ceremonies. I was going to temples back when we were still doing the penalties and making fun of the protestant minister.
If Joseph Smith didn’t want to have sex with Marinda Johnson Hyde (the same Marinda Johnson whom Joseph was accused of hitting on in Kirkand when she was 15 – remember the infamous tar and feather incident?) why would he take her away from Orson Hyde? He was one of the original 12 apostles, faithful member and by all accounts good husband to Marinda?
Even FAIR concedes that Joseph was probably having sex with his polyandrous wives:
"This is not to argue, I hasten to add, that such marriages must not or could not involve sexuality. I believe they were legitimate marriages, and as such could easily accommodate righteous marital relations."

Again, unsubstantiated rumor and age did not play a role in the dynastic marriages (did I suggest it did?!?). Marinda lived with Orson. Stayed with him till 1870, had 7 children with him (all theirs), and there is no indication of any untoward relationship between the herself and Joseph Smith. Remember they didn't have birth control back then.
Also, FAIR says a lot of things I don't agree with and aren't true. I've never agreed with them in the past and I see no reason to start now.

Condoms have been around for hundreds of years. I believe the word was coined in the 1600s. A simple google search will prove my point
