Good luck to you both

Adding my best wishes too.
I'll be thinking positive thoughts in the direction of you and your husband.

Thank you again, everyone, for all of your support. The patient is home, and doing fine.
I will let you know when we schedule the surgery.

Thanks!
I hope he is okay Liz.
I think you did the right thing taking him to the hospital rather than the nearest Home Teachers, medical science tends to have a higher success rate than prayer or the laying on of (non medically trained) hands.

That is exactly what is going to happen.
Liz,
It's great that your husband is a candidate for this kind of minimally invasive procedure. While it does require a highly skilled surgical team and (very) expensive equipment, recovery time will be short and relatively painless.
While I am sure your doctors are being cautious in setting expectations, I will tell you that this is among the safest cardiac procedures in interventional radiology and I think both of you will be very happy with the outcome. So, try to relax and not worry about the procedure (undue stress before the procedure is a bad thing) - you will both be fine.
You and your husband should feel very fortunate that you live in a time and a place where this kind of treatment is available.
Finally (and I do apologize, but just can't help myself), please let me remind folks that this miracle of healing was brought to humankind by --- SCIENCE.

LOL! Thanks, Drifting!

His Dad and his brother actually did give him a blessing in his hospital room after he was settled.

Thanks, Dr. W! Yes, he has a wonderful team that is working with him! We are very grateful.

This is what is wonderful about new technology. He has suffered with this since birth. Now, the doctors can finally do something about it.

Yes, but we need to thank God for giving us science...

Anything that reduces the release of stress hormones in such as situation is a good thing. If a blessing reduces stress (and it is known that friendly laying on of hands can do the trick), then it is perfectly reasonable to give a blessing.
Personally, I would rather just have a hug from my wife or children (or even a good looking nurse) rather than two LDS men praying over me - but hey - whatever works.
