You're talking to people who have faith and testimony.
No, I'm talking to people who have faith. A testimony means that you have personal knowledge. You only have personal knowledge that you have certain emotional experiences that, through operant conditioning, you have been taught to associate with the proposition that the Church is true. You do not have a testimony to offer as to the historicity of the Book of Mormon, the authenticity of the Pearl of Great Price, and so on, because you have no knowledge of those things.
If Joseph Smith restored the Gospel, then all else will be revealed when it's revealed.
"Joseph Smith, therefore Thomas Monson is a prophet" is a non sequitur.
Of course you're making it all out to be worse than it sounds. You always leave out the fact of the missing papyri
