And then I clarified what I meant and note I stated that was true of myself as well. Like I said, you seem to ignore what I have to say, make up something in your head, and then base your assertions on that. I'm sure that is interesting to you, but it is hard to hold down a conversation with someone that is doing that. At a certain point, you have to let someone like you wander off and just talk to themselves because that is what you are doing anyway.Themis wrote:This was your first post which was a obvious statement of what you thought other people were not doing.

"You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.... Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful." -- Judge Doom

You can ignore it all you want, but you didn't bring it up just about you, and you know it. Even chap said the same thing everyone else has right after your second post.

Tobin wrote:To demonstrate to ourselves what we are. All of this is predetermined. You can not change who you are or what you are. The circumstances in which you find yourself was all predetermined and it is foolish to pretend you had any choice in the matter. For example, what race you are, what sex you are, who your parents were, and so on had zero input from you. Even the choices you feel you make in this life are of little consequence and impact and only possible because of God. So, you can pretend to be as signficant as you'd like, or you can to humble yourself, realize who and what you are and how very limited you truly are, and approach the Lord in order to be changed, to be saved, and to be uplifted. That alone is what makes change of our creature possible.sock puppet wrote:So why not go directly to judgment day and eternal assignment? What's this whole life/existence on earth for? God already knows, so this life is nothing more than a boot camp discipline exercise--but it won't work because we can't pretend to be something were not, right?
Tobin, free agency entails the day to day decision making process in addition to asking the lord for help if one chooses.
Saying a person's life is predetermined is basically the Devil's plan. It seems the LDS would prefer God to be nothing more than a kid with a magnifying glass.
