Well, Yahoo is a nickname. Bot -- Hungarian.

I've always had a passing interest in name etymoligy so I looked 'Yahoo Bot' up.

Yahoo: "a brute in human form," 1726, from the race of brutish human creatures in Swift's "Gulliver's Travels."

Bot is even more interesting. It might be a contraction of the Hungarian "robot". Its modern use has curious affinities with earlier uses, e.g. "parasitical worm or maggot (1520s).

I've actually photographed and illustrated the bot fly larva. The bot fly lays it's egg on the proboscus of a mosquito (God knows how) and then it is injected under the skin of the host (victim). It has multiple rows of nasty hooks that make it difficult for the victim to scratch out. The sore (wound) it creates usually becomes infected. It's the major source of jungle rot in South America.

Once the larva matures it eats it's way out of the flesh of it's human victim and flies away (Alien?).

Actually, no, it was coined by Polygamy-Porter because a trailer park in which he lived for a time as a kid was named "Shady Acres."

You can redeem yourself in his estimation by resolving to not be so inflamatory in what you write. Your son will understand that we all have bad days if we have some good ones as well.

It's comforting (somehow) to know that the name has a basis in reality. Odd for Porter that he is still in "Shady Acres".

Bob has defended LDS child molesters in court, ergo, he supports child molestation.

Shady Acres Trailer Park vs. the MADhouse.

Still think we got the best end of that deal (in more ways than one).

"Shady Acres" gives me the image of a trailer park where retired people live. It has plenty of trees to protect the trailers from the summer sun. Actually a pretty high-class pace. People come and go with the seasons, but they don't have to worry about their homes being broken into while they are gone, because everybody protects everyone else, and their property.

Yep.

We have a little trailer park down here like the one you are describing. It is called Briny Breezes and is in a beautiful setting right on the ocean. In (I think) 2005, during the last real estate boom here, residents were offered a total of $500 million dollars for their trailer park (working out to more than a million dollars for each of the 400 or so little lots.)

Some trailer park.

That board is a joke now. Notice that after the most recent Stalinist purge, the board is running at a snail's pace. Kind of hard to have a conversation when you ban the other viewpoint.
