And the choreographers... (and the whole world of ballet)

I think ballet is not compatible with Mormonism.

http://www.google.com/search?as_epq=ballet+in+Mormonism says:
No results found for "ballet in Mormonism"
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

My non LDS friends and acquaintances are heads and shoulders more obsessed with the female body than are my LDS friends. At least if you measure by any outward indicators.

Infact many are so obsessive that the female to them is not much more than a body. Few non LDS friends appreciate the intangibles as much as most of my LDS friends.

I wonder what causes this? I live in the East, if that makes a difference. But even when I've visited some more populous LDS places in the West I still find that my LDS acquaintances place far more weight on quality of character, versus the body, than do my non LDS acquaintances who place more emphasis on the body.

Wow. You are able to rate everyone's obsessions by outward indicators visible to you?

Of course, with a little effort, most people can look sexier if they want. But again, it isn't for everyone.

I just hate to see a really well put together woman (or man) that only avoids sexiness for some silly moral reason.

On another level, my point is that any society will make sexual taboos about dress and other behavior and it will always be sexy to push that envelope in a daring but artful way.

I enjoy the look of exhibit A much more than Exhibit B. Niether one is garment approved. This is why I'm against garments.

OK OK. I will change out of jeans and t-shirts and wear something more sexy. After all, at 62, I appreciate the admiring eyes a bit more.

You know that's not true. I've gleaned from your posts that you appreciate the female body. You know that this runs contrary to Mormon thought and teachings.

I think it's about power.

A man in the presence of a sexually attractive woman can be putty in her hands. Even if he feels no inclination towards a relationship with her or anything of the sort, he will still want to please her and be liked by her. This can lead to a shift in the power structure away from what God intended.

A beautiful woman can wield influence beyond her station no matter how she is dressed, but it's easier for a priesthood holder to resist her feminine wiles and exercise his god-given stewardship over her if she is dressed modestly.

Um ... doesn't God want beautiful women to exert power over men? I hate to break it to you, but in the state that God made people (assuming he did make them), and in which the human race lived for the majority of its existence, we did not come with any clothing attached. Yup, we walked around mother nekkid.

Presumably the consequences were as God wished them to be.

This is quite nice. A catholic nun once told me that when I see a beautiful woman I should just thank god for creating such a beautiful human being. That was a good lesson.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.
