I have noticed that when posting on the internet, it is easily to be misunderstood. This has happened to me quite often quite often because posters wish to read into posts what they want to read. This has happened to me here and on the catholic forum. And perhaps I have done this with you. Sorry if this is the case.

You haven't given me any examples of anti-Mormon Catholics mocking the LDS church to begin with, and you're in no position to predict what I would or would not do should I ever witness such a situation.
What about these and please read all of them:
Yet they still believe that con man and coward was a prophet
May they see the truth. It is my fervent prayer
From a Mormon poster addressing one of the catholic posters:
You mean like calling an entire religion of people "vengeful"? That's what I was pointing out in your post and that's why I ascribed it to your being an former LDS. I know lots of ex-Mormons who are not bitter and don't go around ascribing malicious intentions to all LDS.
Edit: I also find it interesting that I got an infraction for calling you bitter, yet your post stands calling all Mormons vengeful. Oh yeah, no double standard there whatsoever.
For what it's worth, I'm sorry I called you bitter. I should have kept that to myself.
As we can see the report buttons were being pushed by the antimormon catholics, giving the poor Mormon a warning.
Catholic posters:
I still think Mormons have a vengeful mind frame.
Perhaps because he was not an innocent man. He was a crook and con man who ran from three states and tried to run from another to avoid the law. He then, as a suspected criminal in jail, illegally had a gun and fired willy nilly down stairs before trying, again, to run, leaving his friends behind. And he did not RE establish anything. He established a huge con.
Another catholic poster:
To me it's like there is a raging river and one has to cross it somehow. The Church has built a sturdy bridge, wide and strong, and it's so easy to cross - you just walk over that river. You might get a bit wet but you're not going to drown.
With some Protestant denominations there is a shaky bridge and when people cross it they find it very difficult and sometimes they get very wet and sometimes they fall into the water and drown.
With organizations such as what is called the Mormon Church you are mostly on your own. If you are given any help it's in the form of a boat that you have to find a pump for and then you find out it has a leak. Or they will throw you a life ring if you're in the water but it's not on a line long enough to reach you. You might get across. You might drown. You might be carried way down the rapids and smashed against the rocks.
To me it makes sense to use the best way across that river and it is the Catholic Church.
Another catholic poster:
Due to the volumous amount of threads about Mormons and the Mormon religion, I thought it might save some time for those of us who are constantly fighting the fight against the lies of the Mormon church to just put up the end-all-be-all thread and be done with the topic, or at least have something to quick-reference for when the Same Song Second Verse posts appears on these boards.
Catholic poster:
For Catholics/non-Mormons:
Mormons will say that they "prayed about it" and got a "burning of the bosom" and this is how they know that the Book of Mormon is true. Mormons will then ask you pray about it and let you make the choice for yourself.
This is a lie. Do not believe it.
This is the beginning of what is called the "Double Bind", an argument style that is used frequently by members of the Mormon faith. It goes something like this: In the Book of Mormon, it says to pray to get an answer on its truthfulness. If you get an answer, than it's true. If you don't get an answer, well, that's a problem with you and it's your fault. It will eventually get to this point: If you believe with out questioning, then you have faith. If you question and begin to have doubts, then you are at fault because you allowed Satan to influence your belief. This will mess with your mind, as any ex-Mormon on this board will attest to. If you allow yourself to be sucked inot the lies, you will end up fighting this battle in your head years after you leave the church. Trust me on this.
Mormons will deny certain historical facts about their religious heritage.
This is a lie. Do not believe it.
The historical facts can easily be found with a Google search about such things as the early leaders of the church being an unapologetic racists, the Masonic origins of the LDS temple ceremonies, and the complete disproval of the Book of Abraham "Translations".
Long story short, it doesn't matter what you believe about the Catholic Church, it doesn't change the fact that the LDS church is based on the lies of Joseph Smith and perpetuated to this day by the leadership of the church.
Catholic poster:
I can't agree to post that way
No matter what you do or say
We struggle hard to fight the fight
Because we know that we are right
I know that we are sometimes scoffed at
by those who follow a false prophet
But I believe if we fight and pray
Some will soon be in RCIA
Catholic poster:
But the truth is that the leaders of the Mormon church *are* liars.
Another catholic poster:
I think that to preserve faith for those poor deluded creatures, the best approach is to demonstrate to them that the LDS church is in apostasy from the best of the Book of Mormon,
Finally a kind episcopalian:
Come on. This is grossly inappropriate and wholly uncharitable. You are welcome to respectfully disagree with members of the LDS faith, but calling them liars is uncalled for and I honestly expected more.
And a kind catholic:
Why assume I'm defending the Mormons just because I question some of the tactics here.
I'm a life long Catholic who drifted and is working to build my faith.
While I have disagreements with some Catholic doctrine, I'm here to strengthen my faith and not tear down anyone else with my doubts. So i do more reading than posting. And when I post, I work hard to keep it positive.
I've seen plenty of facts posted here that discredit smith, but the facts can be presented with charity and without bullying
I just gave a cross section of three threads about Mormonism. Now if MDD were doing this about the catholic church or any protestant church, you would be outraged. Right? And the catholic moderators did not give any warnings at all. Nice?
hobo1512 wrote:Not really seeing your point here. How else would you describe a fraud or con? Is there some special word(s) they should be using?
Was the burning in the bosum comment wrong? I sure here it a lot from Mormons.
Was the statement about smith being in jail with an illegal gun, shooting back wrong? I don't think so, it's in the Mormon church history.
Remember, facts and truth aren't always rainbows and lollipops

Perhaps you could use your great persuasive skills demonstrated in this post on DCP and convince him that Islam is a peaceful religion.

Catholic Answers is a huge site complete with names of the top catholic apologetists. The names are there to see. I don't think that catholic answers wants angry muslims knocking on their door. I don't think that Hobs would dare call mohamed a false prophet or a con artist on that site like he does Joseph Smith. I do think that he would be banned. But who knows, I could be wrong.
