No, it has more to do with knowing that welfare, such as state recognition of gay marriage, isn't a right and that the state need only benefit the ideal.

Maybe you're just worried that gay married couples will receive the same type of tax breaks that straight married couples receive now, and that would be bad for the economy....you know...the way businesses shouldn't receive tax breaks due to the negative effect that would have on the economy....wait! :lol:

I disagree here. I would not support such an initiative. This violates freedom of religion, which is also covered under our constitution. Churches should be allowed to conduct, or refuse to conduct marriages for whomever they choose. They are private entities. Anyone should be free to go to the courhouse and get married. But churches should maintain their right to be able to conduct the services they choose to conduct.
