You were lied to. Obviously, your local ward leaders of yesteryear, in those various states, had not checked with Daniel 'on closer examination' Peterson or the 2012 Correlation Committee. Those local leaders were obviously going rogue in their wards.DarkHelmet wrote:you know the prophecy that one day the constitution will hang by a thread, and the brethren will have to save it? I have heard this prophecy consistently from childhood up to the present time, in many different wards in various states.

The semantics game again.
There is no firmly documented white horse prophecy, therefore there is no white horse prophecy.
There is a very-well documented prophecy that the Mormons will save the nation from a constitutional crisis-- or destroy the nation as a result of having taken over during a constitutional crisis. And if they can't find one, they will make one.
Prophecies have to be self-fulfilling, don'cha know.

If there is no white horse prophecy existent before 1890, why is the Constitution of the United States mentioned 126 times in the JoD? Mostly in terms of the LDS interpretation of that document. I doubt that any other religious organization has such an obsession.

I was recently told by a TBM family member that Romney was going to be elected so he could the Elder who would fulfill this prophecy. I don't think she is the only one excited about this idea.
