If it's going to offend Mormons - then support it! If it's "progressive", as opposed to the "Mormon regressive", then shout it from the rooftops.

When I heard of LDS support for Prop 8, I wept. It offended my sense of fairness so much to imagine that my ancestors went to prison for polygamy and now the LDS Church would fight to prevent gays from marrying that it played a huge role in my exodus from activity in the LDS Church. If you could interview my bishop at the time, he would confirm that this is true. He came to ask us why we were ending our attendance, and we brought up this issue pretty much right away.

My feelings about this issue prompted me to stop going; not the other way around.

I'm sure your efforts in this regard will be a real treat.

I don't generally like labeling people "anti-Mormon", as I have so been labeled, and I don't think that label was unjustified at the time. You reek of it. You are the biggest anti-Mormon on this board. And in your schizophrenic moments, you'll try to persuade yourself and others otherwise, when challenged on this.

Nevertheless, continue your back-pedaling.

And the position from which I am retreating is what, exactly?

Ray, why don't you go ahead and back up your assertion that my view on same-sex marriage is based on my supposed irrational hatred of Mormons, instead of law?

Go ahead. Show everyone.

You are not Darth, and I wasn't addressing you. I appreciate your honesty. And I didn't know you have polygamous LDS ancestry. It's perhaps not strange that your sense of justice, and your quest for fairness, appears to come from - Mormonism. Or at least partly from your Mormon upbringing. The religion that, apparently, your ancestors embraced and passed on to you. I know you're primarily disgusted with apologetics, and not Mormonism itself. Darth J, well he's another matter.

Your numerous anti-Mormon, and often out of context threads here are enough evidence that when it comes to Mormonism, you possess as much balance as a roller-coaster.

Well, Ray, I'm disgusted with apologetics & Mormonism. I think the whole thing is rotten -- like rotten eggs. I would be delighted to see the whole Goddamn church come crashing down. I hate that church. Mormonism is all about brainwashing.

And, you seem awefully pissy these days.

Let's see how serious Ray is in proving that I only approve of same-sex marriage because I hate Mormons.

Ray, according to American 14th Amendment jurisprudence, how is a liberty or property interest created?

I don't feel that way, so we're going to disagree, Paul. Why not just get on with your life, and enjoy it? If you really feel satisfied with your life, there's no need to be vindictive. Appreciate what you have, and who you are, and live your life to the fullest, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

The greatest "revenge" is to live well. Not to go on message boards and tell everyone else how "evil" Mormonism is.

You forfeited me taking you seriously long ago.

Then we disagree. But I am getting on with my life just fine and enjoy it. I love my life. But I do feel vindictive towards Mormonism and the way it brainwashed me. It gives me satisfaction to badmouth the church right here on this board. I like to speak out against the leaders of the church and remind people just how wrong the church is -- starting with Facsimile No. 3, of course.

I'm contemplating crafting a resignation letter. One of my daughters is doing that.

Okay. So once again, Ray will go on a nonsensical rant for several pages when he makes a specious claim that he cannot support.
