Yup. It does not matter whether one chooses to obey the counsel of the prophet in all things and at all times or not. You can ignore his advice, and nothing will happen to you. You won't lose your boy-friend, and no-one will judge you.

Elder David A. Bednar wrote:Sister Bednar and I are acquainted with a returned missionary who had dated a special young woman for a period of time. He cared for her very much, and he was desirous of making his relationship with her more serious. He was considering and hoping for engagement and marriage. This relationship was developing during the time that President Hinckley counseled the Relief Society sisters and young women of the Church to wear only one earring in each ear.

The young man waited patiently over a period of time for the young woman to remove her extra earrings, but she did not take them out. This was a valuable piece of information for this young man, and he felt unsettled about her nonresponsiveness to a prophet’s pleading. For this and other reasons, he ultimately stopped dating the young woman, because he was looking for an eternal companion who had the courage to promptly and quietly obey the counsel of the prophet in all things and at all times. The young man was quick to observe that the young woman was not quick to observe.

Please stop quoting whyme's crap. Pretty please. Then I can pretend he does not exist, since I have him on ignore.

OMG, I find this disturbing.

I'm having a hard time deciding who is the bigger d-bag in the story, Bednar or the idiot RM. I think this lucky young lady very likely dodged a bullet here. (Okay, upon further reflection, I'm definitely leaning towards Bednar, because most RMs eventually get over their mission nuttiness and assimilate back into sane society. It usually takes from six months to a year, unless they immediately start attending BYU.)

I wonder if Bednar honestly believes that following "the prophet," along with all the other sheep in her peer group, was more courageous than thinking for herself and acting accordingly?

A member is free to wear what they want. No one is excommunicated for dress. If a woman wants to wear a short mini skirt she can. No problem. If a guy wants to wear tight shorts, he can. No one is disciplined for dress. And that was my point.

If a member in Chicago wears a nice short skirt that shows some leg and she wears a tighter than normal blouse, who would notice except the guys on the street. Her choice to follow counsel or not.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

What happens to those who don't wear their special underwear day and night? How will that look with a short skirt showing some leg?

LOL! Yeah, whyme is about as brain dead as they get.

Anyway, I try not to be overly modest. Sometimes I'm just a slut.

You slut. You make all the uptight people secretly jealous. They will lash out.

Yeah, I'm a bad boy -- a dirty boy.

Is there anything better than looking at cute boys in tight bathing suits? Hell, I was in heaven today at the pool. Here is a link to pool parties at the apartment in which I dwell. Hell yeah, boys everywhere. No modesty allowed!
