You should see the Celestial Forum. Albion and gdemetz are back and forth all the time. I'm thinking about taking bets on who gets tired first.

Why is it that so many Mormons cannot discuss issues without directly bringing into question the intelligence or the comprehension skills of the person they are discussing with?

That said, back to the Book of Mormon quote. I personally don't care too much what you do with Mormon writing such as this but it is amusing to see the lengths apologists will go to explain away troublesome verses. Clearly the subject of the verse in question is baptism and equally clear is the inference that it is a covenant for life only. Thanks to both of you for your demonstration of obfuscation.

My point was cogent and direct. It made perfect sense. You simply refuse to be taught. Your obstinate stance carries no weight. Just as active Mormons refuse to ever be wrong, you are still Mormon.

The gospel is understood as a whole. There are no troublesome verses. You need to gather into one hand every strand that is related before you begin to grasp the scriptures per each topic. One verse cannot cancel out an entire doctrine that other verse well establish. Like one sin does not bring down a prophet. A prophet is one with God. So even though he stumbles God is still God and he remains one with God. Only God can cause a prophet to fall by casting him out of his oneness. Ya see? All verses are the word of God. Any verse that you choose to stumble on is meaningless to God who owns the whole lot. If you are not one with God then you remain an outside guesser who is not hooked up to the source and cannot judge gee or haw. And you certainly have the cart before the horse and the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

See man? I can hardly obfuscate trying.

Yea, when you show a person that two plus two equals four, and they don't want to accept it, then there is not much else you can do.

My irony meter just blew up...

Multiple sins though, especially multiple serious sins... like adultery, lying within the marriage covenant, lying to public via the pulpit, destroying others' property, bearing false witness or allowing others' to bear false witness in what you know is false, promising that which you cannot fulfill, defrauding the people who trust you... I can go on for hours about Joseph's sins, nightlion. And yes, God spat him out and it's taken multiple generations to try to right his wrongs.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Not to mention the fact that a single false prophesy does indeed disqualify the claimant.

By saying God spat him out you admit God was one with him. Now, just think about that.

What do you suppose happens when the devil and a billion lesser devils know that a man is a prophet capable of bringing the kingdom of God into the world? They freak and never cease to slander him so long as he lives and the memory of him survives.

The Mormons repudiated Zion and only use Joseph for a trademark. The wall of polygamy stops everything cold. Zion? What Zion? We don't want to hear about no stinking Zion.

You always have to follow the money. Science sold out God so they could compete better on government grants that wont favor religion. So.........um...........ah.........EVOLUTION......yeah......we want to research evolution and catalog all the species to show how evolution did everything...............$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Haven't ya got something saucy on Joseph Smith? Boring!
Oh, yeah, here ya go. what about this, oh, yeah and that there, and lookie here, see?...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

All that interference is just to put you off from finding the real power of Zion that Joseph did restore the knowledge of. One kid had enough faith to bring that back into the world. Should cover a ton of sins I'd say. For you though, that wont happen unless and until you value what he got right.

If a guy never got hooked up with God you can chuck him after he makes his false prophecy. A man who gets hooked up with God and ever once shows that; he has got a pass. God might be messing with him. Ya never know.

Only God can make a prophet and only God can break a prophet.
The rants of prophet haters cannot rob a prophet of his virtue.

Look as Samson. He got his powers back. So God was just messing with him.
Jonah thought he prophesied the destruction of Nineveh. Oh well.
