I may be mistaken, but I think you are referring to something that Midgley shouted at Dehlin when he accosted and verbally assaulted Dehlin at a recent conference.

Yes, this is what Dehlin stated happened. Midgley apparently began "shouting Dehlin down" during a question and answer period after the initial lecture. This is where he accused Dehlin of being responsible for his mission companion's death.
It is sad that Midgley would stoop to something like that.

I believe you are correct. I stand corrected. Instead of the author of the hit piece text, it is more than likely Midgley is acting alone. My understanding is Midgley has always been cold and callous to those he deems as 'enemies of the faith.' I am embarrassed for Midgley and I hope he can commence in growing up. What a horrible accusation Midgley levied on Dehlin.
I also wanted to state: although I spoke sarcastically in my first post, I am not sure why farms/MI find it so difficult to follow simple guidelines of etiquette? Trampling over these very guidelines of etiquette while critiquing a work is what makes farms/MI so laughable to so many; but at the same time so offensive and repugnant to those who watch as friends, acquaintances, etc are trampled by farms/MI personal attacks.

Obviously I agree. It is most unfortunate that a destructive culture of infernal accusations and lies has taken root in an organization that seeks to defend the Gospel. Cooler and more saintly heads hopefully will prevail against it one day.
I mean, look at what Professor Hauglid had to do against the underhanded attacks of Will Schryver at MDDB! It is unbelievable, really.

Because it is in the blood of the organization. Trained to punch back against critics in other sects, the Mopologetic machine now cannibalizes fellow saints as well. It is sad business.

I doubt that is true. I do think that there is an editorial culture at the FARMS Review that needs to be reconsidered and changed. The sooner, the better.
Since I doubt the existence of god, I too doubt that is true. But I do believe that the inhabitants of NAMIRS believe they are doing their god's bidding, in the way that their god would want them.

Yep. They are mistaken. That is why I write what I write.

What is your theory why? Too much homogeneity of thought there? Too much testosterone there?

Joseph Smith's own imperfections carried on into the present. He could be terribly nasty if you crossed him. He didn't mind defaming you or sending Porter Rockwell to ice you. Don't mess with Joseph. Remember also the Danites and the Whistling and Whittling Brigade. There was a culture of frontier violence that reemerged in the Reformation in the 1850s and really never went away. You watch some of the Fundamentalist tactics and they practically trace right back to the beginning. The distance between the compound on Big Love and old Nauvoo is sadly not as far as people would like to believe. There is pent up anger there that erupts in apologetics. It doesn't have to be the case, but sadly it is the case.
