I have a counter statement that is as valid as the witness statement Joseph Smith wrote and subsequently changed post publication.

How dumb! Do you have any idea how many times these people were interviewed? A number of them fell away from the church and still did not change their testimony!

Exactly the same as the people on my list.
I must confess though, I haven't altered the testimony statement since they agreed to it....

You all are equally blinded by your abject hatred of Mormonism and are clearly nothing but puppets of Doctor Scratch.

You are all the same person, and I'll let you guess who that is.

Cease your campaign of defamation against Daniel Peterson in this thread right away.

Your party is coming to an end very soon.

Actually, if he did believe David Whitmer, he would leave the Mormon Church like he and most of the Book of Mormon witnesses did. Mormonism is not based on the Holy Book of Mormon and missionaries should be circulating the D&C, not the Holy Book of Mormon.

I think that the many of the witnesses were between a rock and a hard place. They experienced something that could not be explained and yet, they could not remain faithful members. But they could not leave Mormonism alone because of that experience. It was always with them.

It must have been a sad life for them because of it and I am sure that they asked themselves 'why me' several times. However because they could not deny what they experienced and remained faithful to the statement in the Book of Mormon, they do stand as a lasting witness to their experience.
