jumping in here with the UFO attacks is just a very low blow, very classy DarthJ. Good hell everyone step away from the keyboards. All of you are people whom I have great respect for, we have all shared this space for long enough that we should have at least a bit of decency and respect for each other.

Ray, for what it's worth I don't understand your attacks and accusations against Kish. I just don't see it and find it very unfortunate to see you thrown in the towel on a friendship. Please just step away from this and cool down.

In my brief time on this board I've seen Ray go from thoughtful and accommodating to snarky and defensive. In my experience, such a quick and dramatic change usually signals some significant disturbance in one's personal/interior life. So I would urge everyone to please be patient. As for Ray, I don't think we've ever had any direct interaction, but I'll be praying for your happiness and wellbeing.

And thus the psychoanalysis goes on, but funny how it is always directed at people the Mob deems at odds with them, never members of the Mob itself.

Dear Hasa,

I did not ignore your post, or parts of your post. I'm outnumbered, you understand, and can't deal with every post in detail, but in any case it's clear to me that with residents like the Reverend Kiskumen, blinded by his dogma of hating apologists and seeking to silence them, little will be accomplished on this virtual accident in cyberspace. There's no dialogue here. The "true believer" phenomenon isn't exclusive to religion/churches, as Eric Hoffer notes:

For though ours is a godless age, it is the very opposite of irreligious. The true believer is everywhere on the march, and both by converting and antagonizing he is shaping the world in his own image. And whether we are to line up with him or against him, it is well that we should know all we can concerning his nature and potentialities.

And with apologies to Hoffer for a slight alteration:

Passionate hatred can give meaning and purpose to an empty life. Thus people haunted by the purposelessness of their lives try to find a new content not only by dedicating themselves to a holy cause but also by nursing a fanatical grievance. A message board offers them unlimited opportunities for both.

I've spent half a day of my precious few days off here, and probably won't be spending much more time here except for some necessary injunctions if need be.

Let the psychoanalysis and mockery continue, as it no doubt will.

We get it: you're stressed. Maybe you could find something more relaxing to do for a while.

I agree. Walk away, Ray. It isn't worth putting yourself throught this Goddamn meat grinder. What the hell is wrong with you?

Go!

Oh, Ray, people don't enter into dialogue by saying things like "blinded by his dogma of hating the apologists and seeking to silence them."

Not only is it absolutely untrue, but it shows no willingness to have any kind of give and take in a discussion.

It is bad enough to start a dialogue by saying, "So, tell me, how long have you been beating your wife?"

It is a Herculean feat of obtuseness to pretend you want a conversation and then open with: "given the fact that you are consumed with an abject hatred of all that is good and true, it is clear that you are unwilling to have a reasonable conversation, so I won't even try; I'll just show up to restate this in different ways until it gets traction, or you quit talking altogether."

Ray still hasn't backed up his earlier accusations. I guess he has no support?

It seems to me that he has no interest in demonstrating the validity of any of his accusations. They simply are true because certain people, now including him, repeat them often.

I find it very honorable for someone to defend someone who cannot defend themselves but I am miffed why so many step in and defend DCP when he is perfectly able to defend himself. DCP should take this defense as declaring him incompetent to defend himself. Perhaps "someone" should take it easy and let DCP fight his own battles.

In my view, these two posters are the same person. I'll leave readers to guess who that person is.
